Hey teach, YOU KNOW I went into the beta edits with "someone" telling me, "Sophia was too two-dimensional." So I did something about it… And THIS is exactly the reaction I was hoping for. You absolutely do not have to love her. But going from wanting to throw her into the apocalypse yourself to "well… character development happened" makes me ridiculously happy. Thank you so much, Tracie. Five stars AND "the end of the world has no business being this much fun"?! I might need that on a T-shirt.

My romance’s opening scene was 15 pages formatted featuring a full boy meets girl conversation

My manuscript assessor said I could tell the boring bits – it’s now 8 pages

But my main issue is voice and tags, esp. when there’s 3 or more characters, something for my betas to tear apart

In reply to John Hardic. They are incredibly creative, aren't they? That’s exactly how they get people now. They make the opportunity sound exciting, exclusive, and just believable enough to make you pause and think, “Wait…could this actually be real?” Good for you for trusting your instincts and doing the research first. Honestly, I think more people are encountering things like this lately, which is part of why I wanted to write the post. The scams are getting way more polished than they used to be!

Well done Tracie. And perfect timing. I just went through something similar these past few days- posted on your writers helping writers post.

A follower is friends with…..wait for it….Jennifer Aniston who -just because I am/was this person’s follower and friend and spoke highly of me, was offering me an investment in her current film project. Of course, the more money I invested would produce a higher return.
Did my research and due diligence- and politely and respectfully declined the opportunity.
