Disclaimer: one tree hill, not mine.
A/N: So I was bored and decided to write. This isn’t master piece, that I have worked on forever
rating: Teen
spoilers: season 2
couple: none,
summary: how would you feel if you were stuck is a closet with Chris Keller?

If the shoe fits

Peyton looked down at her watch. She was standing alone at school, waiting for Chris Keller. And he was late, very late. She sat down, bored. The class room was empty, like the rest of the school. Well beside her anyway. Chris and Peyton were going to go through Tric’s show, and for some strange reason they were driving together. A day that had started out like a sunny day, with not a cloud on the sky, had changed dramatically after Chris had called her. Telling her that his car had broke down and he needed a ride. And after that, the rain had actually started to pour down. The sky had opened and every single drop of water had fallen down and it still did

“Dam you Chris,” she muttered. She didn’t know if she was actually cursing Chris, or herself for saying yes to driving him. 2 minutes later she could hear someone walk through the door. He was holding his guitar.

“You’re late,” Peyton pointed out. Chris pretended to take a glance down at his watch. A grin started to form around his lips.

“I’m sorry…,” he said mockingly throwing his hands in the air in defence. Peyton glared at him. “Take is easy goldy locks,” ha said.

“Shut up,” she spat. She walked out off the empty classroom, not bothering to see if Chris actually followed her out.

“Where are we going?” asked Chris, he had to run to catch up with her. “Hey I asked you a question,” he said annoyed when she didn’t give him an answer.

“I know, I just chose to not answer you,” she simply stated. She stopped in front of a small room.

“Just wait and hold the door open will ya,” she demanded. She walked into the small room that was filled with music equipment. She started to search for a new microphone to Tric. Someone pocked her on the shoulder. Fast she spun around, glaring at Chris.

“Aren’t we jumpy?” Chris whispered into her ear. She was just about to respond when she saw the door close behind him. Chris heard the sound of a door closing. He turned around and tried to open it.

“It’s locked,” he stated.

“Move,” she demanded, and walked past Chris. She tried to open the door, yeah it was locked. She was locked inside a small dark room, with Chris Keller. She wanted to scream.

“This is your fault,” she accused instead, looking at Chris.

“How the hell can this be my fault?” he asked defensively.

“I told you to hold the door open,”

“How could I know that it would close and stay that way?” he asked somewhat annoyed.

“I didn’t think you would… it’s still your fault,” she said.

Chris sat down at the floor. He started to search for his cell phone, but he had left it at home. He had forgotten it, since he was late.

“Do you have a cell phone?” he asked Peyton.

“Yeah so what?” she asked.

“I thought I could play snake,” he responded dryly. She kicked him with her foot, causing Chris to curse.

“Sorry did I hurt you?” she asked innocently.

“No I’m fine,” he mumbled. She flashed him fake smile.

“So blondie maybe you could call someone,” Chris said. Peyton found her cell phone and started to dial Lucas’ number.

“Yeah?” she could hear Lucas’ voice say.

“It’s Peyton,” she said.

“So how are things at Tric?” he asked. Peyton sighed.

“I’m at school… locked in a classroom,” she mumbled. Lucas started to laugh.

“This is not funny,” she said.

“Actually it is,” Chris said.

“Shut up,” she said referring to both boys.

“So you want me to get you out,” he asked amused.

“Geez I think the man got it,” she said dryly.

“I’ll be there in 30 minutes. Think you will survive,” he said.

“Yeah thanks Luke,” she said genuinely.

She hung up the phone and sat down on the floor. As far from Chris as possible.

“I don’t bite,” he said. “Well usually I don’t bite,” he continued in a husky voice.

“You’re such an asshole,” she replied.

“That really hurt,” he mocked.

“Well if you look like an asshole and talk like an asshole, then you’re an asshole,” she quoted.

“So the high school brat can quote Johnny Rotten. I’m impressed,” he said dryly. They fell into an awkward silence. Peyton tried to see what time it was, but the room was to dark. So here she was stuck with Chris, when he could have been at Tric.

“I’m bored,” he complained.

“Well you’re not alone,” she replied.

“That makes me feel so much better,” he said.

“Sometime you can be so…” Peyton said.

“Talented?” he suggested cutting her off.

“I was going for another adjective,” she spat out.

“Well you’re no picnic either,” he said.

“Are you calling me difficult?” she asked.

“No, but hey if the shoe fits…” he said. Peyton got up from the cold linoleum floor annoyed. 30 minutes seemed like an awfully long time.

Chris looked up at Peyton, stopping at her legs. She had gorgeous legs, he admitted reluctantly. He stood up, trying to focus on the blonde’s face.

“What were you doing in here anyway?” he asked.

“I wanted to get some stuff to Tric,” she answered him. They fell into another long awkward silence.

Chris looked directly at Peyton. He found his head moving closer. Peyton looked at him, his face was only a few millimetres away. Her head was telling her to move, but she didn’t listen. Against her better judgment, she moved closer. None of them noticed the knot moving, before a light stripe hit Chris’ face. They moved away from each other, causing a few things to fall on the ground. Lucas’ head popped in.

“Peyton,” he asked.

“Yeah,” she answered him. She almost ran out, Chris following. Peyton and Chris created as much space between them as possible. Lucas looked at them quizzed.

“So I’ll see you at Tric,” they said in unison, both walking in different directions.

This was a cute story - I saw that it said "complete" so I thought I'd come in and add another reply to it. I liked how you wrote it, Marit. It was well done! :)
