Interesting how that bed comes into play from beginning to end! :wink: :lol I really got a kick out of it at the beginning:
This one is huge, made out of pine with round posts at least a foot in diameter. The top of the mattress comes to above his stomach and he wonders if she has to take a running jump to get up into it when he notices the small, wooden step stool next to the bed.
A running jump! :lol (Actually, my grandmother on my mother's side had an old feather bed when we were little, and it was so high we did have to take running jumps to get into it! :lol It came up to our necks when we were little. But what a great bed... huge! Have you ever heard John Denver's song, Grandma's Feather Bed? It so perfectly described my grandma's feather bed... and how much we loved it!) 8) What was it Denver sang... It'll hold eight kids, three hound dogs, and a piggy from the barn, or something like that. :lol

And at the end of this story, you have Max and Liz on the giant four poster bed at the end... together, as it should be. Of course! Loved the Candy scenes, too!

great tale. i just read it. i thikn what jarett did for liz was enpowering. he knew khivar had to die...but i think he realozed if the choice was hers she would feel that control over her situation. it was awesome and and sfter that i really liked him. great job
