This is great! Far better than the episode My own personal Paige theory is that she is totally jealous of the love that Pheobe and Cole share, as well as that of Leo and Piper, on a subconscious level. She obviously can't react in anger to Piper and Leo, so all her jealousy manifests itself in her hatred of Cole.

sorry this next part is so short . . my muse has been taking a break. *sigh* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Part 6 <div style="text-align:center"> [Two of the Elders meet again to rediscuss their progress.] </div> &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp The taller being approaches the smaller one who sits calmly on a cone-shaped cloud. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Yes?” the small one begins. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “She has passed out. I told you the premonitions would be too much to handle,” the taller answers. Worry clearly colors his normally calm voice. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Do not worry. She is strong. She will recover and awaken.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “I hope so. The premonitions are no good if she cannot act on them.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “On the contrary, the premonitions are already starting to work. She is starting to feel sympathy and compassion again.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Yes, but her heart remains cold and her soul still needs repair.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Patience. Compassion will heal. Besides, it all depends upon what happens next,” the small one says reassuringly. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Yes, the next 24 hours are critical.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “The whitelighter will soon come with questions,” the small one predicts. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Only if she awakens,” the tall one protests, still worried. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “She will awaken.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “You can see that? Do you see anything else?” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “No, the future is clouded, but I believe. Premonitions are only granted to the strongest of witches. She will not fail us now that her powers have returned.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “What should we tell the whitelighter, then?” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “What do you think?” The small one challenges, always the teacher. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “As much as possible.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “No. As tempting as that may be, we must not do that,” the small one reprimands. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “But so much is at stake,” the tall one objects. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “There is always much at stake. But the whitelighter has grown soft; he needs to learn and grow in his abilities. We have let things slide for too long now. He has so much potential; we must nuture it. Otherwise, how will we ever be able to retire?” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp The tall one nods in agreement. Then, unable to stop worrying, questions again, “A cloudy future – are you sure we’ve done the right thing?” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Of course, the future is clouded, already starting to change. She tiptoes to Piper’s closed bedroom door armed with several small bottles filled with black syrup and leans one ear forward listening for signs of life. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Come in Paige,” says a weary Piper. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “How’d you know I was outside? I didn’t make a sound!” Paige asks amazed. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “I could smell you,” Piper answers with a mock gagging gesture. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Paige rolls her eyes in response. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “So, I see you have finished the potion. Looks like a serious one,” Piper observes. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Yup, and what about you? Come up with a killer power of 3 spell yet?” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “I think so.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Gosh, I’ve been so busy mixing that I didn’t notice Phoebe come in,” Paige realizes. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Me either,” Piper responds, “Did she come home?” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp The sisters look at each other worriedly as they realize how late it is. They both run towards Phoebe’s room calling out her name, but they barge in on an empty room. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Geez, do you think she’s just working late again?” Paige asks hopefully. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “I don’t think so. It’s pretty late,” answers Piper while picking up the phone to call the office. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “You don’t think that Cole . . .” Paige breaks off, unable to finish her thought. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “No, no, absolutely not. Cole would never hurt Phoebe,” Piper states firmly. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “So you think,” Paige responds doubtfully. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “So, I know,” Piper insists. “She’s not at the office. I’m going to try her cell.” Piper impatiently pushes buttons on the phone. However, she gets no response on Phoebe’s cell phone either. The two sisters growing alarmed start yelling for their whitelighter. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “LEO!” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp He appears immediately as he was on his way home already. “You called?” he asks with a smile, but noticing the expressions on their faces questions, “What? What’s happened?” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “We can’t reach Phoebe,” Piper blurts out as Paige simultaneously announces, “Cole attacked us.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “What?!” Leo exclaims in disbelief, “Are you guys OK?” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Never mind us honey. Can you sense her? Is she all right?” Piper asks worriedly while giving her husband a hug. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “The baby? Did he hurt the . . .” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “We’re all fine. He left wounded and we didn’t sustain a scratch,” Paige reassures him, “But we’re worried he may have gone after Phoebe. Do you know where she is?” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Leo pauses to sense Phoebe and answers quickly, “Yeah, she’s in her office, alone. She seems to be unharmed but unconscious.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “What are we waiting for? Let’s go check on her. C’mon! C’mon!” Piper urges as she grabs Leo’s hand and all 3 orb out of the manor into Phoebe’s office. Piper, Paige, and Leo materialize behind Phoebe, and they find her slumped over a pile of legal documents on her desk. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Paige recognizes the documents right away, “Oh no. The divorce papers – do you think Cole attacked because she tried to get him to sign the papers?” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Meanwhile, Piper had reached over and was shaking Phoebe by the shoulders. “Phoebe? Phoebe? Wake up!” However, Phoebe barely stirs as she manages a small groan. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Quick Leo, heal her!” Piper urges. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Leo leans over Phoebe uncertainly. He holds his hands over her but nothing happens. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “What’s wrong?” Piper asks. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “I can’t heal her. She hasn’t been harmed by a demon,” he finally announces. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Then, why is she like this?” Paige questions. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “I don’t know. I just sense – exhaustion,” he answers. “I think we need to give her time.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp In response, Phoebe stirs slightly and whispers, “Huh?” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “See? She’s starting to waken. Let’s bring her home and hopefully, she’ll be better in the morning.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Why is she so exhausted?” Piper wonders. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Overworking?” Paige offers. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Everyone shrugs. Leo touches Phoebe’s shoulder; Paige grabs Piper’s hand, and the 4 orb back to the manor. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp The following morning Paige, Piper and Leo wait anxiously in the kitchen for Phoebe to join them. They had all awakened early, too worried about Phoebe to sleep. Over coffee, they discuss how they are going to tell Phoebe that they need to vanquish her husband – again. They immediately cease talking when they hear her coming down the stairs. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Phoebe enters the kitchen greeted by 3 worried faces. “Uh, what happened?” she asks, slightly confused. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “What’s the last thing you remember?” asks Leo. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Phoebe looks uncertainly at her family, “I – I thought I was in my office.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “You were,” Piper answers. “We orbed you here to recover. You were passed out. What happened?” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “I had a premonition.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “A premonition? Really?” Leo asks, surprised. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Yes, I know. I haven’t had a premonition in months, but yesterday I had 2 back-to-back. And they were stronger this time. It seemed like a rebound effect, like after being bottled up for so long, my power returned with an explosion.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Yes, that makes sense,” Leo says. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Well, I could not only see what was happening, I could feel the thoughts and emotions of everyone in the premonition. It was overwhelming. I – I guess that’s why I passed out,” Phoebe continues. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Two back-to-back premonitions? This must be important. What were they about? Who is the innocent?” Paige asks. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “I’m not sure,” Phoebe answers. Unsure whether or not her family would believe that Cole was the innocent, she simply says, “The premonitions were about Cole.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Ah!” Paige exclaims, “So, you must know already. You must know that we need to vanquish him again. Did you see him attack us? Is that what you saw?” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “What?!” Phoebe shouts in disbelief. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Piper kicks Paige under the table. “What? I’m sorry. I just thought . . .” Paige stammers. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “What do you mean? Cole attacked you?” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Yes, honey,” Piper says reluctantly. “We didn’t know how to tell you, but he came here yesterday and tried to kill us. Just like we feared, his evil side has taken over, and we believe we need to vanquish him before he comes back.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Phoebe just shakes her head in disbelief, “No, I don’t believe it.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “I’m sorry sweetie. But we always feared this day would come and now it has,” Piper answers. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “No, you don’t understand. Before yesterday, I would have believed it. But now – not now – not after yesterday,” Phoebe tries to explain. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Why? What happened yesterday?” Paige questions. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “My premonitions,” she answers. “They weren’t about Cole being evil. I think Cole is our innocent.” As she feared, she was now looking at 3 skeptical faces. <div style="text-align:center">~~~</div> <div style="text-align:center"> I want to be what I was when I wanted to be what I am now.</div>

We didn’t sustain a single injury. Leo didn’t need to heal us.” “Interesting, don’t you think?” Phoebe says slowly. “I mean, Cole is pretty powerful right now with all the powers he picked up in the demon wasteland. It doesn’t seem to me that he tried very hard to harm you guys. Doesn’t that seem suspicious?” “I guess,” Paige agrees. “But what – what was the point of attacking us then?” “I’m not sure, but before we do anything drastic, like - vanquish Cole, I’d like Leo to ask the Elders what they think about my premonitions.” “OK,” Leo agrees. “Tell me about them.” “Well,” Phoebe carefully avoids Paige’s eyes, “it’s kind of complicated. Can we talk alone?” “What?” Piper exclaims. “You don’t want us to know what you’re premonitions were about?” “I – I just don’t want to worry anybody unnecessarily,” Phoebe explains looking at the floor. “It’s me, isn’t it?” Paige realizes. “One of the premonitions was about me?” Phoebe nods reluctantly still looking at the floor. She can still hear Paige’s hurtful words and the effect they had on the man she loved. She knows that Paige had good intentions. Phoebe can still remember feeling Paige’s fear – fear of losing Phoebe forever once her heart turned permanently cold. “Don’t worry,” Paige says quickly. “Whatever it is; I can handle it.” Knowing she has no choice, Phoebe carefully relates the details of her visions, including the emotions and thoughts of all the characters. When she finishes, Paige quickly begins to apologize profusely. “Oh Phoebe, you must hate me right now. I know I haven’t always been supportive of Cole, and after seeing this vision, you must think that I completely hate him. But believe me, I don’t. I don’t hate him; I just don’t trust him. And at the time of your premonition, I thought his obsession for you was the source of the problem. I know I was wrong, and that’s why I went back later and convinced him to go to you. I showed him, magically, how much you did love him.” “So, that’s why he called me to him; that’s how he knew that my love for him could bring me back?” “Yes.” “But those words you spoke, must still haunt him. Haven’t we always said there is a reason for everything? There must be a reason for me to have had that premonition.” “As much as I am surprised by it, I must admit that in your description of your vision, it does seem like Cole is the innocent,” Leo answers. Piper nods in agreement. “What about you, Paige? What do you think? Do you trust him now?” Phoebe asks pointedly. Paige looks guiltily at the small corked bottles of vanquishing potion sitting on the kitchen table in front of her. “No, obviously I don’t. I mean, he attacked us, and . . .” she broke off unable to finish her sentence. “Do you trust me? Do you trust my visions?” “Of course I trust you Phoebe.” “Then why can’t you accept that Cole could be our innocent? Why can’t you begin to trust Cole’s good side?” “I don’t know,” Paige admits. “I listen to your premonitions and all I can think is that they are a warning of Cole’s downfall towards complete evil. I just don’t see how he can ever become good. He is a demon.” “Half-demon,” Phoebe corrects her. “Whatever. How can a half-demon be good?” “I don’t know. I agree that I didn’t think it was possible; that is why I was pushing him away. I was afraid that he would always be susceptible to giving in to his darkside, and I couldn’t stand by and watch him fall again. It hurt too much the first time. But I can’t believe I had these premonitions to tell me that I’m doing the right thing. They must be to show me that I need to change something. And I think that means I must change how we’re treating Cole.” “OK, we aren’t getting anywhere this way,” Piper interrupts quietly. “You were right Phoebe. We need Leo to ask the Elders to help us interpret these premonitions correctly. In the meantime, we will stay together to stay safe, but will not set out to vanquish Cole unless in self-defense. Agreed?” Everyone nods silently, and Leo orbs away. Phoebe walks silently towards her sisters. Paige opens her mouth to apologize again, but Phoebe waves her off. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp She gestures towards the small black-liquid-filled bottles as she says, “So, I take it this is the vanquishing potion?” Paige nods, and Phoebe reaches for one. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp As she touches the bottle, she receives another jolting premonition. This time she sees herself in the future. She sees Cole possessing the Woogy, and she sees herself banishing the Woogy back under the house along with him. Then Cole returns, again professing his love for her and again vowing to do whatever it takes to get her back. She is appalled to discover how much Cole has changed. In her previous visions, she could sense good fueled by pure love, but now, she senses evil overwhelming his soul. She feels a strengthening evil fueled by desperation, hopelessness, and despair. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp However, what shocks her more is the hating words spitting from her mouth. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “You just don’t get it Cole. I thought you were dead, and I felt nothing, no pain, no love, nothing. I'm free. We will vanquish you, Cole, somehow, someday. And when we do? He floats up on a cloud so that the two may speak face-to-face. “Yes, the witch has demonstrated great insight into her own premonitions,” the taller one answers. “I never doubted it.” “I know,” the tall one sighs. “Don’t sell yourself short. You never doubted it either.” “How can you say that? Of course, I doubted it.” “No, you did not. Deep within your heart, you did not, or you would never have agreed to the plan.” The tall one does not respond for a minute, but finally answers. “You are right as always, my mentor. How you do that, I will never know.” “Yes, you will. You will learn. You need to trust your instincts more and let go of the logic you still cling to.” Smiling at the thought of letting go of logic, the tall one responds, “Well, we’ll see.” A swirl of bright lights brings Leo in front of the two Elders. Almost immediately upon his arrival, before Leo can even ask a question, the tall one begins to speak. “Trust the witch. Her instincts are correct.” “Phoebe’s premonitions are really meant to tell us that Cole is our innocent?” Leo asks incredulously. The two beings look at each other and then return their gaze to Leo, but remain silent. “Again with the cryptic advice and silence?” Leo asks slightly exasperated. “You must learn to find the right way on your own,” the tall one responds. “I know, I know.” Leo answers obviously annoyed. “And my charges wonder why I often return from the Elders without any answers,” he mumbles to himself. The two Elders exchange glances again. “Can you tell me why we are supposed to save a demon? I mean, he’s evil! I don’t understand how he can be an innocent.” The tall one starts to respond but the other interrupts him, “Leo, I believe you know. Think back and use your own wise words as a guide.” The small one floats forward as he reaches out to Leo. To his surprise, Leo finds himself reliving a moment from a year and a half ago. It is just after Prue, Piper, and Phoebe have reversed the magic that had turned them into warlocks. Leo was reassuring them. Phoebe: Oh, yeah, Leo, sorry we killed you. Leo: It's okay, Phoebe, it wasn't the real you. Or you, Piper. Prue: Wasn't it? I mean, on some level it was me. I felt it. They didn't just plant evil inside of me, or us, for that matter. There had to be something there for them to turn to begin with. Leo: That doesn't make you evil, Prue. You have to choose to be evil voluntarily. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Leo looks up at the Elder holding his hands, confused. “But I thought that since he is a demon, he has already chosen to be evil,” Leo says. “Hmmmmm, really. You think it is so simple? Once you chose good, you are always good? Once you are evil, you are always evil?” The small one appears amused. “Well, no, uh, not exactly.” Leo stammers. He realizes that it sounds ridiculous now, but he had never known a demon to become good. “Yes, well, but Cole is different from most demons, isn’t he?” the small one continues, reading his mind. “Oh, he still has a soul,” Leo gasps, finally comprehending. “How else could he love?” “There is no evil love,” Leo cites mechanically. “Cole even said that once.” “Oh, so you knew about that?” “Well, yes, Piper told me.” Leo cannot believe that he had been so blind and stupid when it came to Cole. All the facts he needed, he already knew, but yet, he had still treated Cole as a lost cause. He realizes with a jolt of guilt what a grave mistake he has made. The Elders nod to each other again as if satisfied. “Hurry,” the tall one urges, “before it is too late. Guide your witches. Save the power of 3.” “The power of 3 is at stake?” Leo gasps alarmed. However, the Elders simply stare at him without answering. Leo knows better than to prod further.
