You know, in Puerto Rico we said pitipua for peas, at least the little round green peas. I think it came from the French, petit pois. There were French people in Puerto Rico at one time. They ran a lot of the old sugar mills before the turn of the century, in the 1800's.

I have a question concerning the challenge. Please forgive me if this is known information, but I am somewhat new at this.

I read the rules and requirements: My question is: Does this fictional piece have to be from scratch (idea etc) or can I use an idea and sections of a piece already completed but altered (drastically) to fit the requirements and word limit?

S_E_R, we didn't specifically stte in teh rules that it has to be original, so if you can modify something, go for it

About this challenge, though, I'm gonna be struggling to finish on time, I can just tell. And yesterday, I had another idea for a little spoof that would fit here as well but there's noooo way I'm gonna have time for both. So if I get the time and energy to write it after the closing date I'll post it anyway even if it's too late for the challenge itself. If I get the energy...

Okay it's time to start posting the challenge stories. Do we post them in this thread or will there be a special thread for them? Teri and I have ours all ready to go and I'm sure a lot of the others have theirs ready to. Can't wait to see the submissions.
