I Understand ~ Criminal Minds ~ T/M ~ DM/PG ~ Part 1 ~ 6/7

Post by Ti88 »

Title: I Understand

Pairing: PG/DM

Rating: T/M (If you can watch the show you can read this)

Genre: Insight/Romance

Author: Ti88 aka Roselle

Email: roswellgoddess2001@yahoo.com

Disclaimer: I do not own Criminal Minds. They belong to CBS, its writers affiliates, the people that own it. I do not get paid for this. It makes me sleep easier cause then the voices running around demanding their say are appeased. Lol But think of it as homage to a wonderful series and like a creative writing assignment.

Author’s Note: As u can tell by my email I am a Roswell fan. This is my first CM fic. Be honest. It is the only way to improve. I like to diverge when I get on a point, so the timelines maybe be screwy…time isn’t really linear anyway.

Summary: I was thinking about Mayhem and Exit Wounds and I realized that Garcia and Morgan are really two sides of the same coin. They just don’t understand it yet. The story is set sometime after Exit Wounds. But flashes back to Morgan’s thoughts and Garcia’s thoughts during those episodes. They will be in italics.

Part 1

He wasn’t going to make it in time. He knew it. Part of the reason he had left Chicago PD is that he was done with bombs. He liked all his limbs. He liked all his parts. He knew the odds and he knew he wasn’t getting any younger. Every bomb disabled and 50 more popped up. He needed more. Needed to feel like he was making a difference.

A bomb had taken out most of his second family; it wasn’t going to take out the rest of them and third ones as well. Nor was it going to take out people he had never met before. Not on his watch.
He listened to her voice. It was the voice of redemption…although it sounded like he was going to need protection from the redemption if this worked out ok. He was determined to make this day turn out with as few causalities as possible. He just hated that in order to do that she would be a casualty of the never-ending war against the bad guys.

He should just close the phone and keep driving, but he couldn’t he had to try. She wasn’t allowing him to tell her and he knew if he didn’t make it and she denied him this one thing it would destroy her. And that was something else he couldn’t allow to happen…not on his watch.
He hoped that this worked. If it did when he got back, he was adding this to the self-defense class he taught. In their line of work, they needed to know how to jump out of a moving vehicle. It might very well be the difference between life and death. Or tragedy and triumphant. Either way anything that cut down of the chance ending the day with a 21-gun salute was worth mastering.
