Title: An unexpected caretaker

Couple:Nathan and Haley. Lots of Dan and Haley but not as a couple.
Disclamior:I do not own any one tree hill characors but I do own my idea and story.
Summary: Haley saves Dan from the fire. No one helps him recover so she thinks its her duty to take care of her father in law even if he hates her or he is an @#%$. No one understands why shes doing it.
Part 1
Haley's Pov
I left the tour and came home immediatly, I left so soon that I left all of my stuff and Michelle Branch said that her or Chris will send my stuff to me. I just had to get away from there. So I left Tree Hill Airport, carrying nothing but my purse. I don't know what to do. Or where to go. My first thought was to go to Nathan, because that is why I originally came home, but I new that it was probaly too soon, he probaly hates me and would be disgusted to see me. It's about 9PM so I think I'll try his work, sometimes he works a late shift. I doubt he'll be at the apartment, probaly trashed it and abandoned our home, just like I abandoned him and our life together.
Dan Scotts Motors is a block away and I can hardley see anything. It's so smokey and foggy around. It's not a muggy night, its not going to rain. I smell fire. What the hell is going on. I panic. I squint my eyes to see where exactly the fire is and I realize that its coming from the desination where i'm going. I panic and I run as fast as I can towards Dan Scotts Motor. The only thought that I have on my mind is Nathan. OMG Nathan. Is he ok?
As I get there I see Nathans car and I panic even more. I have to save him. I don't know what i'd do without him. The entry way is blocked off with fire, I look around for another entry way and I see no other doors. I find a window, where there is no fire blocking my way and I break the glass with purse, swinging it as hard as I can, seeing the glass splatter all around me, not caring if I get scratched. I climb thru the window, I wince when some of the left over glass cuts thru my abondom, but I ignore my pain. I have to get to my husbend.
I run all over squinting my eyes thru the smoke to see where Nathan could be. I don't see anyone around, so I ram my shoulder into one of the windows of Dans office. There was fire near the door so I could not get in. As I climb thru I look all around and I see dan lying on the floor. I rush over to him, scared for him. I squat down and check his pulse. I let out a relieved gasp. He is still alive, thankgod. I start to cough, the smoke is too much. We have to get out of here, right now, but Dan is so heavy.
"Dan. Mr. Scott. OMG MR. SCOTT wake up."I said crying, I was so scared. I started shaking him, trying to wake him up. "Mr. Scott. Please wake up, your scaring me, please, we have to get out of here."
I was crying so hard that some of my tears slipped off my face and landed on his face, waking him up. He looks at me confused. He blinks a few times, taking in his surroundings. He realizes what is going on. He gasps out, "Haley?"
I nod, still crying, I take his arm and make him sit up a little. "Yes it's me,Where is Nathan, is he here? come on, we have to get out of here, this place is going to blow. I need your help, your too heavy for me." I said.
He shakes his head when I asked about Nathan and I sigh in relief, he takes my offered hand and I try to get him up, but I realize that his desk is on top of his legs, weighing him down. He winces. I try to push it off and he helps me and finally he gets free. He stands up with my offering hand, I can tell that he is in soo much pain, but he has to walk on those legs. "Come on Mr. Scott, come on." We make it over to the window and climb thru it and then we realize that we can't get out the way I originally came thru.
"Is there another way out?"
He looks at me and notices that i'm scared @#%$ less and he nodded his head and leads us to the back, we crawel out of a window, its tight but it worked ok. He limps as I help him away from the fire and he collopases down on the floor. I remember all of Nathan and Lucas's pictures, those are important to all of us, I had to try and get them. "Wait here, I'll be right back." I run to the window climbing thru.
"Wait Haley, Wait come back." Dan whispered, he did not have any energy to scream it. I heard him and ignored him. I had to do this for Nathan at least.
I run back to the office, its even more smokey, I can hardley breathe. I grab some of there pictures,burning my hands as I grab them, the steam from the fire is what hurts my skin. This is probaly a stupid thing to do, most likely the dumbest thing i've ever done, but I can't explain it, I just have to do this.
End Of Haley's Pov
Nathan's Pov
I was on my way to go visit my dad, I was going to try and be nice and bond with him tonight. Maybe take him out for pizza or something. I see the smoke and fire and I speed, parked, getting out of the car. I call and ambulance and the cops, telling them that there was a fire here. It's too firey, I can't get in to save my dad. Maybe he got out himself. I make it to the back and I let out the breath I was holding when I see him lying on the floor. His legs are all bloody and his face is black from smoke. But he is alive and breathing. My mind did not register that there is no way he could've gotten out of the building alone.
"Dad, omg i'm glad your ok." I said rushing to his side, kneeling down.
My dan look at me and he does not smile or hug me or say hi, he says one thing. "Haley."
I look at the fire. I am so angry. So Haley did this? My loving wife? The girl that meant the world to me. I will never ever forgive her. I glared hard at the fire. How can she try and kill my father?
"Haley saved me. Your wife is a hero."Dan said. I'm confused. Since when was Haley back and if she saved him then where is she now? OMG not my Haley. I loook at the fire again, angry with my self for believing that Haley could've been so heartlesss to do this.
"She's still in there." Dan said, and I rush over to the window, climbing thru and call out to her.
"Haley? Hales where are you?" I run around. There is fire everywhere. I see her in a hallway passed out holding some of mine and Lucas's child hood pictures. I smile. She cared more then Lucas or I would've, we would've left them there but she new it'd be important to us. I run over to my wife and pick her up in my arms and rush out of there as fast as I can, placing her near Dans body, she was still asleep. Dan was asleep now also and the firemen, police and ambulance got there a minute after.

Those were some of the questions that were asked.
"I"m Nathan Scott, that is my father Dan Scott, this is his auto shop and that is my wife Haley James Scott. There alive, just passed out. Too much Smoke. My fathers legs are bleeding, so i'm guesssing something hard fell on them. My father said that Haley saved his life." I said. We all went in the ambulance, getting to the only hospital in Tree Hill in a few minutes. I answered all of the questions, paid the ambulance bills, called everyone, and left. I could not be there right now. I was not ready. I love Haley but I'm just not ready to face the world right now. She does not have to know that I am the one who saved her life, so I told the police and doctors, and ect not to tell anyone at all that I was here. And I vanished out of there. I was all packed for High Flyers and I was leaving in the morning. Not looking back. This may be the dumbest thing ive ever done but I don't care right now. I am pissed and angry and stil hurt. It's not only because Haley hurt me but it was also because she could've died if I did not decide to bond with my dad, I new it would've been my fault. I apprecriate her saving my fathers life though. I just need a break.

Haley's Pov
