Weather Your Tomorrows

Share on:

Shut out all of your past except that which will help you weather your tomorrows. – William Osler

I’m a huge fan of history and totally subscribe to the theory that “those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it – Santayana).  You have to look at where you’ve been and what you’ve done to figure out where you’re going and how you’re going to get there.  What you can’t do, is expect to move forward while continually looking backward.  Go ahead, try it.  Try walking down a crowded sidewalk while looking backward.  I’m betting you will either walk in to another person or a telephone pole or something.

So look back at where you’ve been, take note and then let it go.  Move forward with your eyes directed firmly toward your future and the amazing things you are going to accomplish.
