The important thing is to learn a lesson every time you lose. John McEnroe
When I was a kid (yes, I’m going there) we had winners and we had losers. We had reading groups in school, and some kids were in the Red Sox group and some were in the Yankees. I’m originally from Massachusetts, so you can take a guess which group was the highest reading group. When we had field day, there
were red, blue and yellow ribbons for the kids that took first, second and third in the races. We learned about winning and we learned about losing, and more importantly, we learned how to be good losers and how to work harder so that maybe we’d win next time. And even though it didn’t seem like an important lesson at the time, it was probably one of the biggest thing I ever learned. There is always going to be someone better than you, and if there ever comes a time that you are the big winner, you still can’t give up working because everyone else is going to be working just as hard, if not harder to be the winner next time.
