Taking a Stand

Share on:

So I’m more than a little sad right now because my students had NO idea how to respond to this quote.  The idea of standing up for something is a pretty foreign concept, and the idea of doing so if their friends aren’t doing it was absolutely terrifying.  Taking a stand is important.  And it’s not because everybody else is doing it, or because it’s going to make you look like a better person.  You take a stand because it’s the right thing to do .  There is an inherent risk in taking a stand, but that shouldn’t stop you from doing what’s right or for fighting for what you believe.  We stand up because we know it’s right, not because it may help us individually, but because it’s going to help – period!  It doesn’t matter who may or may not see you take that stand, what matters most ist hat you do it.
