Yesterday, I talked about unleashing your imagination and how important it is not to limit yourself. Goethe has the right idea in this quote. You can
do it, but, and this is the important part, you have to actually do something. In yesterday’s post, I talked about my dream to be a writer. That’s my dream. I can see it, I can imagine it, and those things are important, but you know what. They don’t mean diddly squat, if I don’t sit down and write. Yep, I have to actually do something. I’m not going to walk into a book store some day and see a row of books with my name on it if I don’t do any writing. Just like someone who may have a dream to act in television, or perform on Broadway. If they don’t try out for a play, or start auditioning, chances are, they aren’t going to be collecting their Emmy statue any time soon. Having ideas is great, visualization is SUPER IMPORTANT and a major part of the process, but that key part is in the doing. You have to start somewhere. You have to take that first step – and that first step is scary. What if you fail? Well the answer to that question is so what? You failed. Big deal. Try again. I’m working super hard to get healthy – I’m always working super hard to get healthy, and guess what. I fail – a lot. I’ll blow the healthy eating, or skip the gym for a month, or six. But I keep trying and yippee for me, I’m hitting the gym a lot more frequently. I’m still struggling with the eating super healthy. I have lots of oops moments. Some of them planned, and some of them official oopsies, but I keep trying. I’m doing something, and I’m going to keep doing something because that’s where the magic is. It’s in the doing. So imagine and dream – please never stop doing those things, and visualize, see yourself succeeding but then it’s time to begin, and begin it now.
