Have Courage and Take a Chance

Share on:

Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore. – Andre Gide

I’m probably not the right person to be talking about this quote.  I rarely if ever take chances, and if I were an explorer of old, I wouldn’t find squat have courage and take a chancebecause I would never leave site of the shore.  It’s one thing to say have courage and take a chance. It’s another thing all together to actually do it.

Any change can be scary.  From the smallest change in routine, to moving across the country.  But we can’t become stagnant.  Marshall your courage and take a chance.  Make a change.  If you don’t, if you remain stagnant, what kind of life will that be? Change means unknown, and fear of the unknown is huge.  I’m working to conquer my fear, have courage and take a chance.  I let fear rule my life too much.  Fear of change, fear of the unknown and for me a biggie is fear of failure.  It’s time for that to end.

I am going to have courage and take a chance.  So should you.  I’m not going to do everything at once.  Some of my chances may be small – infinitesimal even!  That’s okay thought.  I’m not comparing myself to anybody else, or competing with anybody else, either.  I’m just going to live my life, have courage and take a chance.
