It’s How You Think About It

It usually isn’t what you have or where you are or what you’re doing that makes you happy. It’s how you think about it all.

it's how you think about itA truer quote has never been made.  It’s how you think about it.  EVERYTHING.  Not just what you’re doing, or what you have, but everything.  It’s time to take a good look at what you do have and appreciate it.  Show gratitude.  Seriously, you may not be exactly where you want to be in life, but I bet if you look at the people around you, you’ll find that you’re situation is pretty good.  It’s all in how you think about it.

I try to go for a walk every day during my lunch.  For exercise, and just to get a break from all the school kid drama I’m surrounded by. Well today, it was raining.  It’s spring, it’s New England, rain happens.  I could have chosen to sulk about missing my walk, but I didn’t.  I’m happy it’s raining because we need it, and because it’s pushing all the pollen down.  So I popped open my umbrella and went for a walk.  Yeah my feet got wet, but I’m thinking it was a nice walk on a rainy day.

So stop thinking about what you don’t have, or how unhappy you are.  Start thinking about the good things.  Take a look around and take inventory.  Take a real, serious inventory and start looking for the good and the happy.  It’s all in how you think about it.
