Lead by Example

Share on:

It is difficult to bring people to goodness with lessons, but it is easy to do so by example.- Seneca

Did you remember your parents ever saying to you, “Do as I say, not as I do?”  That’s the exact opposite of what they should have been doing.  We should lead by example.  When I give my students a  journal assignment, I journal too.  How can I expect them to write if I don’t model writing?  The same thing could be said for behaviors.  We have to model the type of behaviors we want to see.  Kids who grow up in violent homes have violent behaviors modeled for them.  We need to show them kindness, and goodness.   We need to show it to the world.  Show them what kindess and goodness looks like.  Lead by example and watch it take off!
