You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do. — Eleanor Roosevelt
Sorry I didn’t get this posted yesterday – things got kind of crazy at work, but it also ties in very well with the quote. How serendipitous! I’m one of the senior class advisors at my school, and last night, we had plans to host a dance. The proceeds were being donated to the family of a student who was fighting cancer. We wanted to do what we could to help with the medical expenses. Yesterday morning, the student passed away. I had many students in and out of my room talking about this girl and her battle, and she embodied this quote. She never gave up, she faced each day with strength and courage, and she never once stopped looking fear in the face. Every day! This girl fought and fought, she never gave up. She fought, and in the end, through her courage and strength, she won. Her strength should be a lesson to us all to persevere and do what we think we can’t, because in all actuality, we can.
