No matter where you are in life, celebrate it. It’s either a product of your growth or a place that will help you grow. Cheers to today . – Karen Salmonsohn
So as usual, a quote I chose on Sunday turns around and slaps me in the face today. I’m kind of struggling with the whole concept of celebrate your life right now. In fact, I’m in the dumpiest of dumps right now. No celebrating for me.
But when I opened up the quote for today to write, it kind of smacked me and said to stop being such a baby, and you know what, the quote is right. Seriously. Am I where I want to be in my life? No, I absolutely am not, and it’s something that I blogged about on my personal blog. But what I didn’t think about when I was writing that other blog post was that even though I’m not where I want to be, that’s okay. First, while I’m not where I want to be in some areas of my life, I am where I want to be in other areas, so that’s a win. Second, even though I’m not where I want to be, it’s a starting off point to get to where I want to be.
That’s the key right there. I can get to where I want to be. It may not be super easy, in fact, it probably won’t be. But I can get there. I may not get there alone, and I may have to ask for help. For me, that’s hard. I hate asking for help. It’s just not something that I do. I’ll help anybody and everybody. In fact I love being able to help people. But I can get there. So can you. We all can get to where we want to be. It’s easy to just sit there and say my life sucks blah blah blah, and if you want to stay where you are, then you’re all set. But if you’re not in a place where you can celebrate your life, then take a look and figure out what is happening and how it can help you grow. Don’t settle. But do me a favor, please. When you’re looking around and figuring out how where you are can help you grow, take a second look. I bet you’ll find some reason to celebrate your life.
