Join Tracie's Beta/Arc Team

Do you enjoy YA supernatural stories, found family, small-town secrets, Celtic magic, ancient legends, complicated friendships, and just enough danger to make everyone’s life interesting?

beta arcI’m building a small Beta/ARC reader team for Consanguinity and future books in the Veilshard Chronicles series.

Beta readers may receive an early draft and provide feedback on story, pacing, characters, confusing spots, continuity issues, and emotional impact.

ARC readers may receive an advance review copy before release day. In return, I ask that you consider leaving an honest review when the book goes live. Reviews are never required to be positive, only honest.

What You’ll Get

Early access to upcoming books
Behind-the-scenes updates
Occasional bonus content, teasers, and cover reveals
My eternal gratitude (which should absolutely come with snacks, but sadly doesn’t).

 What I’m Looking For

Readers who enjoy YA supernatural fiction
Readers who can give thoughtful, kind, useful feedback
Readers who understand that early copies may still contain typos or changes
Readers willing to post an honest review on Amazon, Goodreads, BookBub, Barnes & Noble, or wherever they usually review books

A Few Notes About Beta and ARC Readers

These are volunteer positions. Spots may be limited. Applying does not guarantee selection for every book or every round of beta reading.

Please do not share, copy, upload, or distribute any early reader files. These copies are for your eyes only.

Thank you so much for wanting to be part of this process. Stories are better when they find the right readers, and I’m so grateful you’re here.

Advance reader copies are provided digitally. I am not able to provide printed copies to beta or ARC readers at this time.

FAQs

Do beta/ARC readers get paid?

No. My Beta and ARC Reader Teams are completely voluntary. Beta readers receive early access to works in progress and the opportunity to provide feedback that may help shape the final book. ARC readers receive a free advance copy of the finished book in exchange for considering an honest review. There is never any requirement to leave a positive review—I want your genuine opinion.

If reading starts to feel like a job instead of something you enjoy, this probably isn’t the right volunteer team for you, and that’s completely okay!

Are advance copies free?

ARC (Advanced Reader Copies) are completely free.

Will I receive a paperback?

No, all Beta and ARC copies are digital.

Do I have to leave a review?

Absolutely not. Reviews are optional but greatly appreciated.

How often will I receive books?

Not as often as you would probably like. Writing is not a full time job for me and real life frequently gets in the way.

Can I sign up for both beta reading and ARC reading?

Absolutely! Just let me know on the application. Depending on the book and what I need at the time, you may be invited to one or both.

Will every applicant receive every book?

Probably not. I keep my reader team intentionally small so I can manage each release. If you’re not selected for one project, I’d love to keep your application on file for future books.
