Paige is sitting on the edge of the sofa, eyeing Leo closely. Leo is standing in the middle of the room facing Paige with his back to the pacing Piper. Paige sees Leo furrow his brow and jumps up immediately. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “What is it?” she asks. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “I-I’m not sure,” Leo answers slowly. “It seems that Phoebe is unconscious or something.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “What?” Piper exclaims. “Is she OK? Did he – did he hurt her?” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Let’s go. Let’s go NOW!” Paige yells urgently. She pulls the small vial of Cole vanquishing potion out of her pants pocket. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “No, she seems unharmed, just unconscious,” Leo answers, but he obliges in taking both girls by the hand. The three orb into Cole’s penthouse and immediately spot Phoebe passed out on the floor in front of them. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Piper and Leo run to Phoebe’s side to assess her condition. Paige stands back and does a quick survey of the place, looking for evidence of danger, any evidence that Cole is hiding somewhere. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Phoebe? Phoebe?” Piper calls, gently shaking her. She looks up to Leo with a questioning glance. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Leo shakes his head in response. “I don’t sense any injuries, only exhaustion again.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Hearing this, Paige walks towards the other 3 and says questioningly, “Really? So Cole isn’t responsible for this?” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Piper and Leo both give Paige a warning look. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “What?” she responds exasperated. “You can’t tell me you weren’t thinking the same thing. Why were you pacing around like a nervous wreck before, Piper? Why were you constantly monitoring Phoebe for any sense of danger or panic, Leo?” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp They carefully avoid her challenging questions. Instead Leo merely points out the facts. “This wasn’t Cole’s doing. She isn’t injured. Maybe, she had another premonition. I sense only exhaustion like I did before when we found her in her office.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “So, where is Cole? Why isn’t he here?” Paige challenges again. But seeing that she isn’t going to get an answer, Paige asks, “What do we do now, then?” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “We can’t do anything until we know what has happened,” Leo responds. “Let’s get back to the manor and regroup. When Phoebe awakens, we can plan our next move.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Silently they all agree and minutes later they orb back to the manor with Phoebe. To their surprise, she awakens as soon as they arrive. She jumps up immediately. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Cole!” she shouts. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Don’t worry. He isn’t here,” Paige answers. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “No, no, no. I need to find him right away.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “What happened?” Piper asks. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “I know what you guys are thinking,” Phoebe says quickly, “but you’re wrong. Cole didn’t hurt me at all. I passed out because I had a premonition that was so overwhelmingly painful that I couldn’t handle it. I’m still adjusting to the increased power of these premonitions.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “We know he didn’t hurt you, honey,” Piper answers, giving Paige a warning look. “We just want to know what happened. Did you find Cole? Did you tell him?” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “No, I failed,” Phoebe replies regretfully. She starts pacing around the room. “I couldn’t reach him. He wouldn’t listen to me. He was so obsessed with killing himself. He was convinced that he could never be good. It’s all my fault.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Phoebe drops into the sofa and buries her face in her hands. “I’ve got to reach him. I know how to save him now,” she continues. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “What do you mean save him?” Leo asks. “I thought that was what we were trying to do all along. We were going to tell Cole that his powers don’t make him evil. He can suppress his evil side by choosing to use his powers for good.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “I mean I know how to vanquish his demon half without killing him.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Everyone stares at her in disbelief. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Finally, Piper breaks the silence. “How?” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “By replacing his demon half with a real human soul.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “And where do you suggest we get a human soul?” Paige questions skeptically. “I don’t know of any that aren’t being used already.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “I do,” Phoebe announces. She gets up and begins to walk toward the stairs. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Where are you going, honey?” Piper asks. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “To look at the book of shadows. I know I saw a ‘restore a soul’ spell in there that we can use.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “But you haven’t explained anything at all,” Piper protests. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “There isn’t any time. We need to start working on this right away. We need to find the spell, get the potion, get the soul, and find a way to find Cole.” She pauses and lowers her voice unwilling to speak the unspeakable, “Before it is too late.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Honey,” Piper replies gently. “We’re here for you. Let us help you. Paige can look for the ‘restore a soul’ spell and put together the potion. Nobody knows potions better than Paige right now.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Paige nods quickly in agreement. “On it!” She jumps up and runs up the stairs past Phoebe, glad to have something to do. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Why don’t you work on how to find or contact Cole? You know him best, and if he’s going to listen to anyone it will be you,” Piper continues. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Phoebe watches Paige disappear into the attic and sits down on the steps, realizing that she is exhausted. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Seeing that Phoebe is not going to argue, Piper prods gently, “And why don’t you tell us about this soul? Leo and I can work on getting it.” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “I don’t know where it is,” Phoebe admits quietly. “I saw it in a premonition. Cole’s father’s soul was being held hostage by the Source, and he had just gotten it back. But I don’t know what he did with it, and I don’t know where Cole is. I don’t know what to do.” She fights back the tears. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Piper walks slowly over to Phoebe and sits down next to her. She lets Phoebe fall into her arms, and she strokes her head, reassuringly. “It’s OK, sweetie. We’ll find it. We’ll find Cole. If we all work together, we can do it. Part 15

“Got it!” Paige announces triumphantly, waving the “restore a soul” spell with her right hand. She runs down the stairs in time to see Leo orbing out, leaving Piper and Phoebe huddled on the sofa.

“Thanks Paige,” Phoebe manages in between tears, “but I don’t know what good it will do when I don’t know how to find Cole.”

“Leo went to ask the Elders to help locate him,” Piper explains, “but it is unlikely they will be able to sense him if he doesn’t want to be found.”

“What about the ‘lost and found’ spell you used before to find Prue?” Paige suggests hopefully. She sits on the sofa next to Phoebe.

“No,” Phoebe quickly counters, “Cole knows all about that spell. I’m sure he’d have imposed a counter-spell by now.”

Piper locks fingers with Phoebe’s and almost unconsciously Paige does the same as Piper mumbles, “Set your heart free.”

Paige joins in without thinking, “And let the power of three.”

Phoebe feels the words enter her mind easily and chants with her sisters, “find the spell that’s right for me.”

Gold stars swirl around the sisters and take them to their altar in the attic. Without speaking Paige calls for the <A>Tarot Cards</A> across the room and they land in Phoebe’s hands.

Phoebe looks questioningly at her sisters who answer, “Search your heart and you will find him.”

Phoebe closes her eyes, takes a deep breath, and draws her first card.

“The Queen of Cups, that’s you,” Paige whispers.

And then Phoebe draws another.

“The King of Pentacles, Cole,” Paige continues.

Phoebe carefully lays the two cards side-by-side in the center of the altar and then continues to draw from the deck. She places “The Lovers” above the centered pair, the “Two of Cups” below, the “Eight of Wands” to the left, and “The Star” to the right. Finally, kneeling before her altar, she casts her love locator spell.

I call for Cole to come to me,
drawn by the power of love.
Come from near
Come from far
come from earth
come from star.
Branwen, Freya, Morrigan, Selene!
I call upon you to
bring Cole to Me!”</center>

Phoebe stands up and backs away as the white swirling stars begin to trace the outline of Cole’s body. The three girls unconsciously hold hands as they watch Cole’s transparent form appear and then begin to fade away. By doing so, they invoke the power of 3 to strengthen the power of one and Phoebe repeats her chant.

drawn by the power of love.

Unable to fight the power of 3 synergistically combined with the power of their love, Cole reappears in full form bent down on one knee, dressed simply in a pair of dark boxer shorts.

“Oh my, do you ever know how to call a man!” Piper says with a blush, surreptitiously eyeing his muscular physique.

“I was in meditation,” Cole answers non-apologetically. “If you’d given me any notice, I’d have changed into more appropriate clothing,” he continues sarcastically. Before anyone can protest, he dresses himself in a dark suit with a quick flick of his hand.

“I didn’t know you were into meditation,” Paige observes suspiciously.

“I’ve got to keep the balance,” Cole explains.

“The balance of your good and evil sides, I know what you mean,” Phoebe nods, remembering her own struggles with her evil past.

“We’ve all struggled with our inner demons,” Piper agrees recalling her own near-escapes from falling victim to the lure of dark powers.

Cole looks surprisingly at the 3 sympathetic faces standing before him. “Yes, I believe you understand a fraction of the inner struggles I fight daily. However, each of you has encountered dark temptations within you and fought them off. Unfortunately, half of me has already embraced evil and it is that half which I fight to keep in check. I don’t just fight evil tendencies within myself. I AM evil.”

Phoebe releases her sisters’ hands and runs quickly to Cole, grabbing both his hands with her own. “No honey. That’s not true. That’s only what Raynor wanted you to believe.”

“Raynor?” Cole asks confused, “How do you know what Raynor wanted?”

“I received a premonition of your past,” Phoebe answered, “the last time Raynor spoke to you before you killed him.”

Cole winces at the memory.

“Not only could I see what happened, I could feel both of your thoughts and emotions,” Phoebe continued. “He purposely lied to you. Embracing your human side and using good to combat evil was actually weakening your demon half. Evil is a choice, and you still have a choice.”

“Yes, but as long as my demon half exists, no matter how small, it is too risky. I have become too powerful. If I cannot control my demon half, I could destroy all the good in the world.”

“There is another way,” Phoebe offers.

Cole listens quietly while Phoebe explains her plan to replace his demon half with his father’s human soul.

“I guess that would make me fully human, yes?” Cole asks. He does not seem shocked by the news.

“You’ve been thinking about this possibility all along, haven’t you?” Phoebe questions knowingly.

“So you think you have the spell to pull this off?” Cole asks, ignoring the question.

Paige slips a piece of paper out of her back pocket and waves it with a triumphant smile, “Just need to pick up a few ingredients!”

But Phoebe, sensing an unfamiliar feeling within Cole probes again, “You’re afraid, aren’t you?”

“Yes, I’m afraid it won’t work,” Cole answers.

“No,” Phoebe says slowly, “you’re afraid it will work, but I don’t understand why. You’ll finally be free of this demon curse.”

Cole tries hard to keep back Phoebe’s growing mental powers from probing his thoughts, but can’t help feeling his human half reaching out to her for love and support. “I’m afraid it may be too late for me. Look at all the evil I have already done. Do I deserve a second chance?”

“What about all the good you’ve done since you’ve met us?” Piper reasons.

“Yes,” Paige chimes in, surprising everybody, “I think you deserve a second chance.”

“You’re afraid for us!” Phoebe suddenly exclaims.

Cole breaks suddenly away from Phoebe, dropping her hands and turning away. The mix of conflicting emotions he had been hiding, clearly surfaces suddenly, playing across his face.

“Do you blame me?” Cole responds with a quivering voice, his back still turned. “The love I feel for you consumes me and I am only half human now. How will I ever control myself when I become fully human?”

“And why should you control yourself? Why should you deny our love?” Phoebe walks up and touches Cole’s back gently.

“Are you saying you love me?” Cole whispers incredulously.

“Haven’t you been listening?” Phoebe murmurs gently as she wraps her arms around his waist, laying her head on his back. “Our love is what keeps me alive.”

“I thought that was my line,” Cole quips. He turns toward her with a smile.

“No Cole, you’ve always had that wrong. You think my love has saved you. But really, your love has saved me. I’ve seen my future without your love, and it isn’t pretty.” They embrace passionately, apparently oblivious to the audience of sisters that remain.

Piper wipes a tear from her face, but Paige interrupts rudely, “She saved him. He saved her right back. What are you guys trying to re-enact the ending scene to some sort of reverse Pretty Woman?"

“Paige!” Phoebe exclaims in disbelief.

“What?” Paige responds.

“We’ve got to find you some romance,” Piper laughs, shaking her head.

“Forget romance, can you repeat that without the shirt Cole?”

Ignoring the sisters’ exchange, Cole continues to embrace Phoebe as he wisks her away in a disappearing blur.

Like I said in another post here somewhere, I'm so glad that I am back to reading fanfic. It beats the garbage they are giving us on the WB. Oh yay, I'm glad I have not lost all my supporters during my long hiatus. I will try to finish up this fic by the end of the month.

Part 16

Cole’s bedroom

Phoebe awakens in an unfamiliar setting. She startles when she feels the weight of a man’s arm on her back and sits up suddenly, pulling a white sheet up over her bare chest.

“Oh no. Let’s not get up yet,” she hears the man say. And then it all comes back to her. She’s here with Cole and she’s never been happier.

He rolls over to face her murmuring, “Come back here, you.” He reaches out and pulls her in with both arms, and it feels good. She laughs as they kiss and caress like teenagers.

“Do you think my sisters are worrying about us?” she manages in between smooches.

“Nope!”

“Well, we did kind of leave suddenly,” Phoebe points out.

“It’s not like they don’t have ways of finding us,” Cole counters. “They probably have Leo monitoring your every breath.”

“Geez, you know us too well. It’s a good thing you’re on our side,” Phoebe giggles.

“So, is that was this is all about?” Cole acts injured. “Are you using me?”

“I think you know me better than that,” Phoebe answers with a playful push.

Cole shrugs and sobers slightly, “Lately, I’ve not been so sure.”

“I’m sorry, baby,” Phoebe coos as she strokes his cheek, “I’ve been so wrong about so many things. How can I make it up to you?”

Cole smiles mischievously, “Well, for starters . . .”

Back at the manor

Paige plays with her cereal absent-mindedly, “Do you think she’s ever coming back?”

“What are you talking about?” Piper closes the dishwasher and shoots Paige an annoyed look.

“Well, I’d feel better if we could get on with the replacing the demon with the soul thing,” Paige sighs.

“Did you not hear anything we talked about yesterday?”

“Yes, I know. Evil is a choice. Cole has chosen good because of Phoebe’s love, blah, blah, blah. Are you saying you’d be OK with him staying half-demon? I just don’t see what would be the advantage of that.”

Leo orbs into the kitchen and immediately responds, “To stay safe.”

“Leo!” Paige and Piper exclaim simultaneously.

“We’re going to have to set some ground rules about eavesdropping,” Paige insists. Piper nods in agreement.

“I’m sorry. I’m sorry.”

“It’s OK honey,” Piper answers with a smile as she runs over to give him a passionate kiss.

“Whoa, what’s all this about?” Leo asks nervously keeping one eye open to gauge Paige’s reaction.

“I’m just happy to see you. I missed you,” Piper pouts seductively.

“We all have a newfound appreciation for the importance and power of love,” Paige replies with a huff.

“Oh, I see. Cole and Phoebe inspiration?” Leo guesses correctly.

“You should have seen them; it was magical,” Piper enthuses.

“Yeah, why can’t I find any of that kind of magic?” Paige complains.

“You will,” Piper and Leo respond simultaneously.

“OK, but can you tell me when so I can plan accordingly?”

“When the time is right,” Leo replies.

“When the time is right? What kind of answer is that? Is that how your Elders talk to you?” Paige critiques.

“As a matter of fact,” Leo laughs, “thanks for the compliment.”

Paige rolls her eyes, “No wonder you never have any answers when you come back from up there. Speaking of which, what did you mean by keeping Cole safe? Wouldn’t getting rid of his demon-half actually be safer?”

“Cole has made a lot of enemies. Once he is fully human, he will be defenseless.”

“But other demons will not be able to track him once he’s human. He will be off their radar right?” Piper asks.

“Maybe,” Leo responds, “but will he be far from you three? Demons will still be able to recognize him if they see him, and I don’t think you guys will be hiding him very well.”

Phoebe and Cole suddenly appear in the kitchen together. “Hide me from what?” Cole asks.

“From underworld attack,” Paige answers. “We’re discussing the pros and cons of making you fully human.”

“We’ve already decided,” Phoebe announces with a smile.

“You’re going through with it, Cole?” Leo predicts accurately.

“Yes.”

“You’re not worried about leaving yourself defenseless?” Piper queries.

“I was kind of hoping we would be able to protect him. He will be our constant innocent,” Phoebe answers.

Piper and Paige nod in unison; ready to protect the man who has saved their lives in countless ways.

“I actually had another idea,” Leo says surprising everyone. It seems like years since the last time Leo had an idea. “I think we should activate the Charmed Amulets to protect Cole from evil. He deserves it. He has saved our butts countless times, become a champion of good, and suffered needlessly from my blindness. These Amulets were made for someone like him.”

“Wow, I don’t know what to say,” Cole begins, “It is such an honor to be offered the protection of the legendary Amulets. Are you sure the Elders will agree?”

Leo nods emphatically, “Yes. If not, I will convince them. I can fight for what I believe in, you know.” He looks pointedly at Piper and she blushes.

“Are you sure you’re ready to let go of your powers?” Leo asks once Cole more. “The activated Amulets will make you invincible but you will be powerless to protect Phoebe and her sisters like you once did.”

“You are right,” Cole observes. “I am easily willing to give up every single power I have,” he looks down to his left catching Phoebe’s eyes and the silent phrase “for you” can be heard by everyone present. She smiles up at him in response, suppressing the urge to jump him right then and there.

He continues, his gaze unwavering, “But the hardest thing will be watching the Charmed Ones continue to fight demons and knowing I will be unable to help.” Phoebe melts as she reads Cole. His usually passive face expresses all of his emotions at once: love for her, desire to shed his evil past for her, and fear of what future threats he would no longer be able to counteract.

“Oh honey, I can take care of myself,” Phoebe reassures him. Cole nods but his strained dubious smile betrays his true feelings.

Phoebe turns to face him, “Baby, with or without our powers, we can do anything together. I know that now. Denying our love and our destiny together is what has made me weak. Ever since I have realized my mistake, I have become stronger. My powers have grown, and now that we are together again, I know things can only get better.”

Suddenly Paige breaks into song, “Woh woh woh-oh oh. Woh woh woh-oh oh.” Everyone recognizes the familiar Howard Jones tune and laughter ensues, breaking the tension.

“OK, I’m ready,” says Cole.

“I’m on it,” Leo announces and immediately orbs out.

“Where is he going?” Paige asks confused.

“He needs to ask the Elders for the half of the amulet they are keeping protected,” Phoebe answers matter-of-factly.

“I thought Raynor got both of them,” Piper says.

“He did. Sort of. Actually, Cole still had one of the amulets when he killed Raynor, and he turned it over to me. I turned it over to Leo.” Phoebe explains. Then seeing the questioning looks on their faces she continues, “Well, we never told you because it didn’t seem important at the time. I mean so many things were going on and Prue died and” she breaks off with a small sob.

Paige looks away uncomfortably and Piper stifles the sorrow that waves over her at the mention of her late sister.

Hmmmm, sorry I've been so long. Anyway, here's the next part. Hope you like it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Part 17 Cole appears in a secret cave in the underworld still reeling from the effects of Phoebe’s projected premonition. He marvels at the strength she must possess to withstand the overwhelming sights, sounds, and emotions she witnesses during every premonition. He pauses to gather himself. There could be no mistake. Raynor went to great lengths to hide and protect the amulet half that they had managed to steal together. If Phoebe’s premonition was correct, he had only one chance to get this right. As his eyes adjust to the darkness, he flashes back to the amazing recent events that seemed like a lifetime ago. <div style="text-align:center">~~~</div> 1 hour ago “So, do you know where Raynor hid the amulet?” Paige is asking Cole. Cole shakes his head. “So how are you going to retrieve it?” Just then Leo orbs into the room dangling an amulet from his outstretched hand. “Maybe this will help,” he answers. Phoebe accepts the offering, and Leo lets it drop delicately into her cupped palms. Her eyes focus unwaveringly on the brilliant jewel of protection. As she watches it fall, seemingly in slow motion, she speaks to it silently, “Show me where your other half lives.” On cue, as soon as the amulet touches her hands, the horrifying visions come flooding in. The others watch as Phoebe’s eyes register concentration, worry, and then horror. Her face suddenly pale, she screams out, “Nooooooooooooooo!” and collapses on the floor. <div style="text-align:center">~~~</div> Cole shakes himself out of his reverie. “Concentrate,” he commands himself. The first barrier was no problem, made to keep out witches and other agents of good. He had passed easily into Raynor’s office several times. He knew he needed to don a wizard cloak in order pass through the seemingly solid wall before him, the only way to enter the office without tripping a silent alarm. Wizard cloaks could only be touched by demons, wizards, or other agents of evil. As he throws the wizard cloak over himself, he worries about how he could outwit the Warlock guarding Raynor’s most prized possessions hidden in a secret room that before today, Cole didn’t even know about. As he worries about releasing Matthew Tate, his mind wanders back to the events of the previous hour. <div style="text-align:center">~~~</div> Return to flashback “Phoebe, Phoebe, what happened?” Paige demands turning to Leo. “Obviously, she’s had another bad premonition,” Cole answers with a slight hint of disdain. He quickly bends over her motionless form. “You know about that?” Piper questions. “I make it my business to know certain things,” Cole responds simply, offering no explanation. He lifts her tenderly in his arms and they watch in amazement as both Phoebe and Cole’s bodies glow for a brief moment. Afterwards, Phoebe awakens with a start. “Where am I?” She jumps to her feet assuming a defensive position. “Relax,” Leo says comfortingly, “you are at home, safe. That must have been some premonition.” “Hey, how did you do that?” Piper looks at Cole in amazement. “Her premonitions drain her of power and energy, right?” Cole shrugs, “Well, I’ve got plenty to go around.” He turns to Phoebe, furrowing his brow in concern, “That bad, huh?” Phoebe nods, burying her head in her hands, and falls absent-mindedly backward, clearly thinking there is a chair behind her. Barely twitching his index finger, Cole quickly shifts the loveseat from across the room to catch her fall. Piper marvels at how Cole anticipates Phoebe’s needs, and at how Phoebe trusts that he will. Clearly these two have a strong connection that was always meant to stay strong. “Raynor was serious about protecting that amulet,” Phoebe sighs as if in defeat. “What’s that?” Piper asks surprised, “Are you giving up or something?” “I just can’t figure it out. I can’t see how it can be done,” Phoebe shakes her head, fighting back the tears. “What are you talking about, Phoebe?” Cole interrupts, “Surely, there is no demon with more powers than me, protecting the amulet.” He tries to read Phoebe’s expression, searching her eyes, but she avoids his gaze carefully. Leo walks over and places a gentle hand in Phoebe’s shoulder, “Come on Phoebe, tell us what happened.” He watches a tear drop onto her lap and looks up at Cole. The meaning of the gaze is not lost on everyone else. Everyone is speechless. This powerful man before them will fail in his quest to finally be free of his demon-half? He will die trying? Phoebe had a premonition about his death? “I-I- can’t let you do it,” Phoebe stammers, still avoiding Cole’s eyes. “I think,” Leo advises quietly, his eyes still trained on Cole’s, “it is time you let Cole determine his own destiny.” Nodding in understanding, Cole walks over and kneels before Phoebe, taking her hands in his. Phoebe realizes with sadness that Leo is right. She lifts her head slightly, looking directly into Cole’s eyes and says, “I love you.” Before Cole can return the sentiment, he is struck with the powerful visions of Phoebe’s premonitions. Leo, Piper, and Phoebe watch in horror as Cole’s face registers surprise, concentration, worry, until finally, Cole screams out in anguish. His body suddenly takes on a demonic form they had never seen before as it reacts to the pain of the premonition and then dropping Phoebe’s hands, Cole drops to the floor. Phoebe, apparently not phased by the transformation, quickly stands and walks towards the kitchen. Leo bends down to check on Cole, but he weakly waves him off as he slowly returns to human form. He looks over towards Phoebe as if wanting to say something, but as if sensing this, she halts at the entrance of the kitchen. Without looking back, she commands, “Go. Go now before I change my mind.” Nodding, he blurs out. <div style="text-align:center">~~~</div> Cole’s thoughts return to the present as he enters Raynor’s private office. Without hesitation, he heads towards the hidden safe in the back wall. He places his hand on the wall and with a small grunt, slowly pushes his hand and then entire arm past the wall into the safe. Feeling around blindly, he can feel the pressure of the safe’s demonic metal pushing against his arm, threatening to crush it. “Maybe I should have just blown the dang thing apart,” he thinks ruefully. But just then, he finds his prize, and smiling in triumph he slowly pulls his arm and closed fist back out of the wall. Opening his hand, he gazes upon the old cursed locket, wondering if Phoebe’s spell would really work. Turning to his left, he waves his open hand in a circle revealing a hidden door with an unusual keyhole in the shape of an opened locket. “Well, here goes nothing.” <div style="text-align:center">~~~</div> <div style="text-align:center"> I used to have the longing to hear what was in your heart.
