It was generations of families that still looked up to the Royals, even though Khivar made it impossible for the people to acknowledge any one but him. The guards lowered Max so that he was standing before her. She reached up to caress his face. How messed up are you? Part 49 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp They continued down a long hall and finally came upon stairs. Alex made sure to look at everything, especially ways to escape. The guards they had initially met where taking bets on how long Khivar would let each captive live and it turned Alex’s stomach. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “You think he’ll let the Princess live?” said one. This caught Alex’s attention. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Princess Vilondra…he seems to have her pretty brainwashed, plus she’s with child…maybe he will let her live,” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Come on he’s heartless,” Alex clenched his fist and Geiphe whispered to calm down. Alex wanted to pummel the guard, make him take back what he was saying about Isabelle. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “He maybe heartless, but he’s always been weak for the blondes,” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Explains his hatred for the Baroness,” Finally they stopped. They were on a walkway with about 100 other guards and in the middle of the floor below were Liz, Max, Michael, Kyle and Maria. When Alex saw Isabelle his heart stuck in his throat and it took all his strength to not blow his cover. Isabelle was sitting on a chair, her legs curled up underneath her, whispering excitedly to Khivar. He hung on her every word. As the last of the guards took their positions, she looked around aware someone was watching her. Alex maintained his composure as he waited for her eyes to fall upon him. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Isabelle knew someone was watching her. She began to look at the guards above them, most of them were staring into nothingness and those that were aware had their eyes on the prisoners. And then she saw Alex, hiding her gasp with a cough, she quickly looked away. Was it really Alex? &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Princess, what has your attention?” Khivar asked. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “You have so many loyal guards Sire, I am amazed at your power,” Khivar chuckled and patted her hand. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “That is not all I will amaze you with,” he said. She cringed at his innuendo. She smiled and looked back up at Alex. She mouthed ‘I love you’. Alex was relieved to see Isabelle acknowledge him. The guard had mentioned her being brainwashed…but if she was would she have been able to see him, acknowledge him? He pushed the thought from his mind as Liz was dragged forward and placed before Khivar. Tess was at his side, arms crossed, face smug. Nicholas stood behind Khivar. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “So Elise…have you come to your senses?” I nodded my head no. Tess had hurt her with the blast. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Please let me have the joy of doing away with her,” Tess piped in. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Silence!” Khivar screamed. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “I have a right to…” Tess never finished her sentence as Khivar sent her flying into a near wall. The guards all gasped. She was one of them and he had hurt her without a second thought. She lay in a crumpled heap on the floor. Nicholas hurried to help her. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Let that be a lesson to all,” he finished, standing tall and approaching Liz. Her arms were still bound behind her and he pulled her face roughly to look at him &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Now you will tell me where the Protector is,” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “I can only tell you what I know,” I managed weakly. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “You expect me to believe you do have not met him? “ &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “If you’re so smart how come you don’t know who he is?” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “I would expect under the circumstances you would chose to be less insubordinate,” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Well then you must not be as smart as you pretend to be,” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Maybe I will keep you around for amusement,” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Just make sure to sleep with one eye open,” Khivar chuckled some more and then turned to Tess. Nicholas was still beside her. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Maybe you will decide to believe me when I tell you to be quiet,” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “I’m not afraid of you Khivar,” Tess said quietly. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “What?” he bellowed. She pulled away from Nicholas and stepped to Khivar. They were face to face. Khivar’s eyes turned icy gray. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “I said I am not afraid of you. I am not the silly little girl from Kaspar waiting to be queen, waiting expectantly for you to notice how great I can be,” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Ava, Ava, I am not sure where this sudden urge to tell me your feelings and to talk back has come from, but it stops right now,” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “Kill me Khivar, because anything has to be better than this place with them and you,” she said defiantly. Khivar reached out and grabbed her neck, her face turned red as she struggled to breathe. He lifted her from the ground, her feet dangling. But she didn’t fight, she stopped struggling and just before it seemed she wold die, he let her go. She fell to the ground, reaching to touch her neck that was red from Khivar’s hand. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “As much as you annoy me, be happy I will let you live,” he smirked. Isabelle had gone pale and quickly looked up. Her anxious scan of the guards had me looking up as well and I saw Geiphe and Alex. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp I quickly began talking to Geiphe. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp  Geiphe…what do we do now? He has us in these wristbands that prevent us from using any powers. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Elise…your powers lie in your mind, not only your hands. Have you figured out where the army came from so quickly? &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Khivar has some sort of wormhole into which they appear and disappear. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp It seems Antar has advanced even more, scientifically. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp That’s great, but what do we do? This army has weapons and we can not defeat them all. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Are you hurt? &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp A little, but not enough to not help my friends. Max and I are trying to melt the bands around our hands, if we can get lose we may be able to make a diversion for the others to get away. You must help them get away. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp What off Princess Vilondra? Has Khivar managed to warp her yet again? &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp He did, but somehow she has managed to fight it. But before we could carry on anymore of the conversation, Tess again stood up to Khivar. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “You will let me live? Surprise Khivar…I have chosen to NOT let you live,” She raised her hand and sent a fiery blast his way. It hit him squarely in the chest, sending him flying back against Nicholas and several guards. She kept coming as I rushed towards Isabelle. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “You think you can just keep me around at your beck and call on this awful planet, where I am nothing to no one? You think that I enjoy being Tess Harding, lap dog to Max Evans? I killed Nacedo because I was tired of him and now I will kill you,” she screamed <center>*************<center>And I believe<center> <center>That angels breathe<center> <center>And that love will live on and never leave<center><center>*************<center>************* <center>The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return"

NNNNNOOOOO You can't be getting close to the end. I want this story to keep going. Well I just got caught up from being off the boards for about a week. I think I missed the part where Maria can see peoples aura's and how she saw the invisable army. Not that I am complaining but I always thought Maria needed a little alien powers of her own. <center>*Denise*

Part 50 The guards had all backed away from Tess and Khivar. Even Nicholas had fallen back in fear. What was going on here? Why had they not rushed to help their leader? “We need to get out of here,” Isabelle said pulling me towards the other. Aleman rushed to us with several other guards, quickly making childs play of our restraints. “Why is no one trying to help Khivar?” Michael asked “No one in this army is loyal to him. He is heartless and has killed many of our people. We will be happy to see him die at the hand of a female,” “Do you think she will really kill him?” Kyle asked, staring back at the drama. Tess was standing over Khivar, hand out ready to attack, but she was yelling at him. Every emotion she had ever felt was aimed at him. He sat there on the floor nursing what seemed to be a broken arm. “She’s bursting at the seams…I think she has finally gone over the deep end. Her aura’s keep changing color,” “I think she was pushed to far,” Max said. “Lucky for us,” Alex and Geiphe finally reached us. The guards had scrambled and now stood around us. “Your Highness,” Geiphe said bowing before Max. “It is a pleasure to finally make myself known to you,” “Please rise, I am not a king to anyone,” “You are, you always will be,” Aleman said quietly. “Thank you, but I know nothing of my past home…only what Elise has been able to share and remember,” “We better get out of here,” Michael said. Tess had finally stopped screaming and now turned her attentions to us. “You don’t really think I would let you all out that easy, do you?” The army began backing away from us and her as she approached. “We don’t want to have to hurt you Tess,” I said. “My name is Ava, you bit*h, Ava,” “Ok, Ava,” “You think you can hurt me? You think I am scared of anything the Royal four can do? Try your best cause I don’t care,” And then right before out eyes she went up in flames. Maria began screaming. Alex grabbed Isabelle and I just stared in shock. Khivar was laughing hysterically, as the body before us withered into nothing but a melted mass. “Stupid, stupid girl,” he said and stumbled to get up from the ground. His arm hung limply at his side as he shuffled to us. The army slowly centered around him. Our group closed in together. “I am sure you are thinking you have defeated me,” he croaked, coughing on the smoke. “We did not come here to have a battle Khivar, you brought us here to carry one out. We do not wish to fight you,” Max said. He stood tall and I saw how the people of Antar could easily trust him as King. “You do not wish to battle me? That’s too bad –“ “No Khivar, it is not too bad…look around you. You have an army that retreated from saving you, how are you going to battle us when you have no one to protect you?” I said standing beside Max. “I don’t need an army to kill you all. NICHOLAS!” he screamed, looking around for his lackey. Nicholas timidly inched his way to Khivar. “Yes Sire,” he said, voice trembling. “Prepare the army-“ “No General Khivar, there is no preparing the army. We are under a new command,” &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “You insolent peon, I am the king of Antar, I am your general,” he screamed. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “No sir, the true King is here, you are nothing,” Aleman continued. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Khivar raised his arm to strike, but was blasted from behind. It wasn’t a big hit, but just enough to have Khivar fall to the floor in pain. He cradled his arm and rolled over to see who had struck him. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp “I’m tired of this game you are playing, it’s time for some new rules, “ Alex said. &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp <center>*************<center>And I believe<center> <center>That angels breathe<center> <center>And that love will live on and never leave<center><center>*************<center>************* <center>The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return"

Part 51 “Who are you?” Khivar managed, fear etched into his face. “I’m about to be your worst nightmare, now get up,” Alex responded. Khivar watched Alex and seemed to weigh his options. From the corner Alex saw someone trying to get away unnoticed. “You- stop!” It was Nicholas. He stopped when Alex yelled at him and Michael and Kyle quickly ran over to bring him back to our little soiree. “I-please-I’ll tell you everything,” he said hysterically. “Shut up you fool,” Khivar hissed. “Both of you, quiet,” Alex said, pushing Nicholas over to where Khivar still sat on the floor. Alex walked over to Max. “All yours Max,” Alex said with a smile and a flourish. We all stared at Alex in disbelief. Where had all the bravado come from? Who was this new and improved Alex? Whoever it was, Isabelle was eating it up. Her eyes shone with admiration at her husband and he seemed to blush. “Thank you Alex,” Max started. “ So Khivar, is this how you planned everything to go?” “You still think you’ve won, you have no idea,” “Actually we do,” I stated, stepping beside Max. “Now either you tell us how to send the army back or you won’t survive another 5 minutes on any planet,” “You mean you don’t know?” Khivar asked mockingly. I walked over to him and wrenched his hurt arm away from his chest. He didn’t shriek…his arm was not hurt in the least. It was a ploy for us to let our guard down…he was dumb enough to think it and I caught it. “I know enough. You want us to be so afraid of you, so in awe of the great and mighty Khivar. Well I think you’d be wise to fear us…we are the Royals and if it were up to me, you’d be dead already,” He stared at me hatefully and carefully rose. He brushed off his pants and then looked around. The army stared back at him, defiantly. “You all owe me your lives. If it were not for me, Antar would not be half the planet it is today,” “We owe you nothing. The planet is that way because you lie, cheat and steal from the other planets in the alliance. The time has come for you to pay for all the lives that have been lost since your coronation. The true King is alive and well,” Geiphe said. “And you think this King, this part human king is going to leave all he knows behind to go back to a planet he knows nothing about?” Khivar asked. “I am willing to do whatever necessary to make sure the wrongs of the past are righted,” Max said “So kill me, why are you waiting?” “It will not be right for me to kill you…I will let the people of Antar decide what to do,” All of us couldn’t believe what Max had just said. Let the people decide? How could we trust that Khivar would not try to escape? How could we know that he would not come back and kill us? “A wise decision Sire,” Geiphe said, nodding in satisfaction. “Um, Max…can I talk to you for a second? Michael asked. Kyle and Alex quickly locked up Khivar’s arms behind him as he had done to us. Khivar remained stoic throughout, while Nicholas whimpered. “You sniveling fool,” Khivar chastised his Colonel. “I can’t help it…it’s the emotions in this damn husk,” Nicholas cried. “I think bringing it back has slowly degenerated it to even younger years,” “Just shut up,” Khivar hissed. Michael pulled Max away from the group. “What do you mean you are going to let the people decide? Suppose Khivar gets away and comes back to kill us?” “He’s not going to get away,” “You seem so sure. How can we trust this army of his? I mean for all we know this could be part of his great plan,” “I’m going with them,” “ WHAT?” “I’m going back to make sure things are done correctly,” “And you decided this just now? Without conferring with the rest of us?” “What is there to confer about? You have Maria, Isabelle has Alex and a child on the way, Kyle doesn’t need to be put in any more harm than he has already been in…” “And what about Liz? You were just complaining about not having a chance to start anything with her and you are just going to leave?” “I-“ “I’m not going to let you go,” Michael said with finality. “Michael, I’m the king, I need to do what is right-” “It’s what got us killed last time. You were so eager to make things right that you forgot about the people that meant something to you. When I see how you look at Liz, how you’ve always looked at Liz…and I now know why...how could you give that up? She’s alive now, you’re alive…the planet can wait,” “I can’t let you go Michael. Maria would never forgive me if anything happened to you,” “Then I think we need to let the group decide. We all put ourselves on the line.
