I agree with cardinalgirl. I don't know if I should start reading the HP fanfic 'cause I'm already so absorbed in Roswell fanfic. I don't think it would be wise to throw HP fics in the mix too.

And for me it's different with Roswell fanfic, b/c the writers sucked so it was necessary to find other people that would do the show justice. With HP JKR is such an amazing writer it would kinda feel like I'm commiting sacrelige or something by reading someone else doing a remake of her work. And to add to the fact that the story's still not finished. I'll probally get into the fanfic after the last book comes out but I can't bring myself to read any now.

Sadly, I'm NOT kidding about the petition. It's almost like they're going overboard trying to prove Emerson right about their delusions...

I think that's true... but at the same time, in fanfic I have the option of finding more R/H based fics... when the books are so about Harry (understandably, of course. lol But still...)

Oh, and I had another thought about HBP that I forgot to mention before...

I giggled like a twelve-year-old when Slughorn called Ron "Rupert" by mistake. Anyone else take that as a nice little wink from JKR that she approves of how he's portrayed in the films? :D

I LOVED THAT! :D :D And really, how could you NOT approve of Rupert? He's so adorable...sigh.

I'm completely dumbfounded by this. :confused

That was a lovely and very amusing nod to the films. ;)

Nah, there's nothing sacrilegious about some of the really good HP fanfic out there. Honestly. But I understand not wanting to delve into a whole new realm of fan fiction if you've already invested loads of your time in another one. I'm a fan of countless things, but don't subscribe to the fan writings of all of those things. If I did, I'd probably never leave my house again...like a crazy cat lady without the cats. ;) (I stole that from the new Reese Witherspoon/Mark Ruffalo preview I saw the other day :lol)

I don't get that petition either. Hmmm...and they wonder why EMrson called them delusional? :rolleyes
The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four persons is suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends, if they're okay, then it's you.

I like reading the fanfic, because while your waiting for the new book to come out, it keeps you from pulling your hair out. Besides, it's nice to get a spin on things, JKR is an amazing writer but sometimes, hearing the interpretations somebody takes from her writing, and then taking it the next step is really fun. I understand though, what you mean by wanting to stick to the original.
And as for the other funny parts of the books I don't think anything had me laughing more histarically than when Harry had that argument with himself when he first found out Ginny broke up with Dean.
She's Ron's sister
But she's ditched Dean!
She's still Ron's sister
I'm his best mate!
That'll make it worse
If I talked to him first-
He'd hit you.
What if I don't care?
He's your best mate!

That excerpt made me have to stop reading the book for like 10min because I was laughing so hard. I even called my brother in New York to laugh it over with him!

OMG! I must be so slow! I noticed the name, but I didn't make the connection to Rupert "the actor" until just now. :doh
And I get what you're saying about more R/H stuff. But for me I'm ridiculously all about Harry so not having more R/H coupling stuff wouldn't really bother me. Don't get me wrong, I love Ron and Hermione! Ron is so halarious and Hermione is doing an awesome job representing the female population. But Harry will always have that special place in my heart. (Sappy I know! )

Thanks for saying that.
 cute quote. What movie are Reese and Ruffalo doing? Reese is such an amazing actress. I just loved her in Cruel Intentions!

That's EXACTLY how I feel about Roswell fanfic. But don't you mix up certain facts from the fanfic with the Book? That's what I would be worried about while the series is still being written. It's why I want to wait until the Series is completed.
I loved that scene in the book too. I especially liked the line where he's like: " If I talk to him first... He'd hit you" I was cracking up! I really think at the time Ron might have actually taken a swing at Harry!

OMG! Emerson is THE MAN! :bow I love him! After reading that wall, I was in tears... it was so funny! A couple times I had to stop and wipe my eyes b/c I couldn't see the screen.

The new Reese Witherspoon movie is called Just Like Heaven...it looks cute. And the kid who played Napolean Dynamite costars as Mark Ruffalo's brother.

You bring up a fair point here. And I felt like I had waited so long between GOF and OOTP, and had occupied my time with soooo much fanfic, that when I actually did read Order, I felt like I was reading a really long and wonderful fanfic and even compared bits of it to fanfic...that was a WEIRD feeling, to say the least. Can't say as I had the same issue with HBP, though. *shrugs* Guess I got over that! ;)

Amen to that! Two years is a loooong time. :lol I mean, with a TV show, you have to wait a week between episodes, then months during summer hiatus...but with a book series, you read your heart out for 16 hours straight and then NADA for two years. It's tough. :lol

I did notice "innit," but didn't she use "you lot" before? Maybe I'm thinking of the movies... *shrugs*

I'm re-reading the series now. Last night I finished Philosopher's Stone (yes, I decided on the British version, although it always throws me when Hermiones starts talking about revising for exams...that's studying to us non-Brits) and started in on Chamber of Secrets. The Weasleys just pulled up to Harry's bedroom window. ;)

TLC posted an interesting pic that oughta keep the H/Hr 'shippers happy in their lala land: Hermione, Harry & the Egg :lol

And the San Fran Chronicle had an article devoted to the shipping war as well: If you're an obsessed Harry Potter fan, Voldemort isn't the problem. It's Hermione versus Ginny

Oh that's just sad. JKR's now responsible for destroying any chance at a real relationship they could ever have??? Well you know what, that eases my mind for the possible people that could have ended up in that relationship. Yikes. Get over it already!!

If that's true, they are more screwed up than we ever thought before. ;)

I haven't read that one in a while, but it just seems like I've read it in other book(s) before. But I could also be thinking of fanfic, so...:lol

Maybe she'll work the word "delusional" into the title of the seventh book somehow. ;)

I caved! It was too tempting not to read it! BistyBoo, I had been holed up in my room for the past week reading After the End.....

I LOVED IT!

I couldn't eat, sleep,.... the only thing I could do was read non-stop! It was addicting. :drool I counted the minutes when I would be done with work and could continue reading. I stayed up two nights in a row continuing to tell myself that "THIS chapter would be the last one before I turned in"...then clicking on the next chapter.
I started using British exclimations! It was......
BLOODY BRILLIANT! :eek

I LOVE HARRY POTTER FANFIC :thumbsup

Oh.. thank you thank you thank you! For opening my eyes to HP fanfic!:bow

I'm gonna go read another one right now!
