Summary: 8 years after Voldemort is defeated and Ginny's and Draco's death, Hermione and Harry go to Ron's funeral. Harry and Hermione are being followed by Ron's ghost. They go to Grandview, New York to solve some problems involving Romano. They met Melinda, Jim, Ned, and Delia. Warning: HBP SPOILLERS!

Chapter 1 Bad News

Harry and Hermione were at the Burrow. Mrs. Weasley said sadly, "Ron was killed. He went to Percy's flat to check on his brother, his sister-in-law, Penelope, and his niece, Nora, but they weren't there. A robber shot him once in the leg and another time in the chest."

Harry said sadly, "I should of gone with him."

Hermione said sadly, "Percy, Penelope, and Nora were at the amusement park when Ron was killed. Ron saved his brother's life by taking the gun shot for him. His niece won't have to go through what Harry did."

Mr. Weasley said, "Harry and Hermione, this was not your fault. Ron was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. He would want us to be happy."

Harry said sadly, "I'm going to take a walk." He walked outside and nearly walked through a ghost. He remembered the first time that he saw a ghost. It was when he was 11 and saw Nick. He heard the ghost call his name.

"Harry."

Harry took a closer look at the ghost, and he noticed that the ghost had red hair was wearing plaid shirt with blood on it and pair of jeans with blood on his left leg with a pair of white sneakers. He knew the ghost was Ron. He said with a smile, "Hey Ron."

Ron said sadly, "I don't want to be a ghost, but someone is keeping me from moving on."

Harry asked, "Who is keeping you from going into heaven?"

Ron explained, "He was wearing black wide brimmed hat and a black cloak. I think he's name Romano."

He asked, "Do you know who shot you?"

Ron answered, "Your cousin, Dudley Dursley did it." He disappeared.

Harry saw the Wide Brimmed Hat man and said angrily, "Leave my friend alone, now."

Romano said evilly, "Chosen One, you're mine." He vannished.

Harry passed out.

Harry woke up in a room in St. Mungo's and saw Hermione next to him on a chair. He said, "Hi Hermione."

Hermione smiled and said, "I am so glad that you are okay. What happened?"

Harry explained, "Ron is a ghost. I saw a wide brimmed hat man. His name is Romano. He is keeping Ron trapped on Earth. Can we leave?"

Hermione replied, "Yes. We should go to the Ministry of Magic." They apperated to the Ministry of Magic and went into Auror department.

Kingsley Shacklebolt, the Minister of Magic explained, "Auror Potter and Granger, I need you to go to Grandview, New York. There have been problems with a demon, lately. You will have act like Muggles when you are there. You will also have to work while you're there. You will leaving three days after Ron's funerall."

Harry said, "Okay." They went to Harry's flat.

Harry dressed in a black suit and black dress shoes while Hermione was in a long sleeved black dress with black high heels at the Cemetery with the Weasleys. The priest said, "We are here to say goodbye to Ron Weasley. He is in a better place."

Mr. Weasley with Mrs. Weasley came up to the poduim. Mr. Weasley said sadly, "Ron was a wonderfull son. He always looked out for his family and friends. He was going to get married to Hermione Granger. He helped defeat Voldemort. We love you."

Harry came up to the podium and said sadly, "Ron was the first friend that I made at Hogwarts. He was like my brother. We played chess and Quiditch. We defeated Voldemort together. I miss you, Ron. I am going to read a poem called Goodbye Friend. To Ron, we must say goodbye
He wouldn't want to hear us cry...

A sweeter man we've never met
In our hearts we'll never forget!

The angels came to take him home,
Now we are left on earth to roam.

His time was long, yet seemed too short
To memories now we must resort.

For everyone he had a smile
And he loved to sit and talk awhile.

Now in our hearts Herschel still
lives on
Until our time on earth is gone...

Hermione said sadly, "I am going to read a poem called My Promise by Kayla Becker. Things haven't been the same
Since you've been gone.
For a while I wondered
How I'd carry on.

The emptiness inside,
It aches all the time.
That is the reason why
I am writing this rhyme.

When I heard the news,
I didn't know what to do.
It happened so suddenly,
It just couldn't be true.

They said you'd passed on,
And you weren't coming home.
You'd gone on to Heaven,
Where your soul could roam.

But I'm not quite alright.

Everyone cried. The priest said, "Ron is in heaven, now with his sister. Amen." Everyone went inside.

It was two days since Ron's funeral. Harry and Hermione spent the night at Harry's flat. Hermione got dressed in a pair of black jeans and a grey sweatshirt with black boots while Harry was dressed in a pair of black jeans and a green t-shirt with black tennis shoes. Harry bite into his piece of toast and said, "Hermione, let's go shopping."

Hermione smiled and said, "Ok." They took a bus to Brent Cross Shopping Centre. They went into Gap. She bought a snow gray combo Striped cashmere sweater, a pair of snow cap skinny pants, a black Toggle coat, a grey deep v-neck sweater, a white ribbed tank, and a black pencil skirt. Harry bought a pair of brown Khakis, two white t-shirts, a Marled mock turtleneck sweater, two pairs of jeans, a charcoal cardigan, a navy scarf, a jean jacket, a Khaki Elbow patch crew neck sweater, a long sleeved white button down shirt, and a charcoal heather t-shirt. They went into a shoe store and got some sneakers. They took a cab to the airport.

Harry said with a smile, "We need to get stuff to cheer us up." They went into Hilfiger. Hermione bought a pair of a camel Corduroy Bootleg Pants, an off white turtle neck sweater, and a brown sweater. Harry bought a pair of java Vintage TH Canvas Chinos and a long sleeved button down white shirt.

Hermione said excitedly, "Let's go into Monsoon." They went into Monsoon. She bought a Cassia Skirt, a Kitten Red Cardigan, an Orla Print Skirt, a Chocolate Hermione Pintuck Camisole, a pair of Metallic Stitch T-Bar Shoes, Spot Tweed Jacket, a Lyon Wrap Dress, a Mini Front Zip Pocket PVC Shoulder Bag, Painted Metallic Small Shell Necklace, and a pair of Tamsin Frill Mary Jane Shoes. Harry bought a pair of Bootcamp 34 Jeans, Cheggars Stripe Jumper, a trench coat, brown leather gloves, a pair of Firefly 30 Jeans, an Aston Orange Stripe Pocket Top, and a Chocolate Student leather Bag.

Interesting start. So Ron is dead. : But at least he's around as a ghost. It's a good start for the story... or is that the end? :?:

Harry and Hermione had gotten to Grandview at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Hermione asked, "Where should we look for first for a place to live?"

Harry said, "My parents left all their property to me and they have a small house here. I'll show you were it is at." They went to Potters' Villa and went inside. It had four bedrooms and three bathrooms. There was two old cars in the garage.

Hermione said, "We should go to the town square and look for jobs. We should also sell those old cars." They walked all the way to the town square. Harry got a job as a waiter and Hermione as a hostess at a restuarant; they will work Mondays at 8 o'clock in the morning till noon, Wedensday noon until 4 o'clock. Fridays 5 o'clock in the evening until 8 o'clock at night.

Harry said, "We should get some lamps for the house so it doesn't look like it's in the 18th century." They went into Same As It Never Was Antique Shop.

Ron's ghost appeared and said, "Harry, help me."

Harry said annoyed, "Ron, you can't showing up where there are people around." Melinda Gordon was watching Harry talk to the ghost.

"I don't want to be stuck here." said Ron.

Harry said frustrated, "I don't know how to help you." Ron disappeared. He said, "I'm Harry Potter and this is my best friend, Hermione Granger."

Melinda said, "I'm Melinda Gordon. Harry, who were you talking to?"

Harry had to lie even though he hated too, "I was talking on the cellphone. Wrong number."

Melinda smiled and said, "I saw you talking to the spirit. I can see him, too."

Harry said, "Okay, I was talking my best friend, Ron's ghost."

Melinda asked, "Maybe I could try to get him to go into the light?"

Harry said, "Okay."
