Title: Tea or Coke
Author: Jenny
Disclaimer: Nope, not mine.
Pairing: Sean/Tess
Rating: YTEEN
Summary: Sean fills in as a waiter. Sort of a sequel - takes place in the same universe as Like the Rain. Ficlet; 395 words.
Author’s Note: For anniepoo98, who wanted Sean/Tess with the prompt “sweet tea.”

***

“Yo, M, loan me ten bucks.”

“For what?” Maria cut her eyes at her cousin, tiredly blowing a wisp of hair out of her face.

“For gas. I’m strapped for cash until Friday.”

Obviously not having the energy to argue, Maria sighed. “Fine. But make yourself useful first. Take this to table six and this to table four.” She handed him two cold glasses.

Sean just stared at her blankly. “You act like I know what that means.”

With a roll of her eyes, Maria pointed. “Table six.” She pointed again. “Table four. Now go. Earn your ten bucks.” With that, she headed back behind the Crashdown counter.

Sean walked over to the first table Maria had pointed to and deposited one glass, then took the second glass to the next table, which happened to be occupied by Tess Harding.

“We meet again,” he said, placing the glass in front of her.

Tess, who had been absently staring across the diner, looked up at his voice. “You’re a waiter now?” she asked, her voice teasing.

“I’m a jack of all trades,” Sean replied smugly.

Tess raised an eyebrow in response. “I bet you are,” she said, taking a sip of her drink. Almost instantly, her face screwed up in distaste. “Uh! I ordered Cherry Coke. This is sweet tea.”

“You don’t like sweet tea?”

“It’s okay. I’m just more of a Cherry Coke kinda girl,” she answered. Sean noticed that her gaze kept going over his shoulder, the direction she’d been staring when he first arrived at her table. Taking a quick glance back to see what she was looking at, he rolled his eyes. Evans. Should have known. What did that guy have that was so special?

“Be a good waiter and fix that for me, would you?” Tess asked, her voice sugary sweet. She batted her eyes at him in mock flirtation, and he couldn’t help but smile.

“Fine,” he said, taking her glass. “But I expect a big tip.”

Tess giggled. “Bring me my Coke and we’ll see,” she said.

Sean started to go back to the counter before turning back to Tess’ table. “For the record, you should really give sweet tea a chance. You might find you really like it. Besides,” he added, his gaze again following hers to the other side of the diner, “Cherry Coke is overrated anyway.”

THE END

Disclaimer: Nothing is mine.
Pairing: Sean/Liz
Rating: TEEN
Summary: Liz and Sean discuss their dream home. Takes place in the Sunrise universe, but can be read as a stand-alone. Drabble; 100 words.
Author’s Note: For cardinalgirl, who wanted Sean/Liz with the prompt “grass.”

***

“I want grass.”

“What, like weed? Didn’t know you had it in you, Parker.” Sean smirked at his fiancée and she shoved him playfully.

“Green grass, silly. I want a yard.”

“That’s it? That’s your wish for our dream house?”

“I never had a yard,” Liz explained. “I lived my whole life in an apartment. All I ever wanted was a yard with lots of green grass.”

“Okay. Grass it is.” Sean wrote the word at the top of his blank sheet of paper. “First on the criteria list.”

In parentheses he added, “As in green, not weed.”

Liz laughed.

Title: Hey, Jealousy
Author: Jenny
Disclaimer: Nothing is mine.
Pairing: Kyle/Tess
Rating: YTEEN
Summary: Kyle calls Tess on her jealousy. Drabble; 100 words.
Author’s Note: For the #1 Lamptrimmer himself, killjoy. Title comes from the Gin Blossoms song of the same name.

***

“You’re jealous.”

Tess smacked her lips at Kyle’s accusation. “I am not jealous,” she scoffed.

“You so are,” he taunted. “It’s written all over your face.”

“You’re delusional.”

“All you have to do is admit it,” Kyle prodded. Tess rolled her eyes. He was enjoying this way too much.

“Fine,” she finally said in a huff. “I’m jealous. Your Christmas present is cooler than mine.”

“Excellent.” Kyle smirked satisfactorily, and handed her the device he’d been withholding. She snatched it from him.

“Now we can commence with the game,” he said formally, right before he powered up his new Xbox.

Title: The Many Uses of a Feather
Author: Jenny
Disclaimer: I own nothing.
Pairing: Michael/Maria
Rating: TEEN
Summary: Tag in the Perfect Family universe. Drabble; 100 words.
Author’s Note: For nibbles2, who wanted Michael/Maria with the prompt “feather.”

***

“Mom, look what I found!” Ali showed her mother a large gray feather, measuring about five inches in length.

“That’s really cool,” Maria said. “You should use it to wake up your dad.”

Giggling, Ali ran to the living room and used the feather to tickle Michael under his nose. He awoke with a sneeze.

“That’s a cruel way to wake someone up,” Michael grumbled good-naturedly. He took the feather and twirled it between his fingers.

“I think I’ll keep this,” he said, looking at Maria with a suggestive raise of his eyebrow. “There are many good uses for feathers.”

Thanks, Nibbles! I have to give Lisa credit for that line. When she gave me her prompt, she made sure to specify, "As in green, not weed." So that gave me some inspiration. ;)
