Hi, I’m Tracie Joy. I am a high school social studies educator and authorteacher, writer, and eternal optimist who believes in the power of words to change lives.

I live in beautiful New Hampshire, where I have spent more than twenty years teaching teens how to think critically and, just as importantly, how to believe in themselves. With degrees in Psychology and Education, I bring both knowledge and heart to my work. Whether I am guiding students in the classroom or reaching readers through my writing, my mission is the same: to help others grow with confidence and positivity.

The Positivity Project

For over ten years, I wrote the blog Think Positive 30, sharing daily encouragement and practical insights about staying hopeful even when life gets tough. That work inspired my first book, Thinking Positive: Take the Journey into Positivity, a guide for shifting your mindset and building resilience through gratitude.

I later created Thinking Positive Toolbox: A Workbook to Develop Thinking Positive Strategies, a hands-on companion filled with tools and exercises. Together, these resources reflect my belief that positivity is not just a mindset but a practice anyone can learn and apply daily.

Why I Write Stories

I have always been a storyteller. When I was little, I’d lay in bed with my stuffed animals and make up stories about them. From there it grew as I became a reader. It started with a simple question: What if?  What if this happened in the book, what if that happened in the book? Wouldn’t it be better if the hero did this? Those questions opened the door to a lifelong passion for creating worlds filled with mystery, friendship, and transformation.

I still just imagined, I never set pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) for a very long time. That’s when I discovered fan fiction. I became a rabid fan of a certain television program. It had so much potential, but the production staff lacked focus and seemed to frequently give in to what the higher ups wanted rather than remaining true to the story. Through fan fiction, I fixed it all, at least in my own mind.

Since 2018, I have been developing several fiction projects, including a young adult paranormal novel that explores legacy, courage, and the magic of human connection.

Through both nonfiction and fiction, my writing is about more than words on a page. It is about inspiring people to imagine, to reflect, and to believe in their own ability to shape their stories.

A Few Fun Facts

✨ I am the proud mom of adult twins who inspire me every day.
✨ When I am not teaching or writing, you might find me sipping tea with a book. Lime most authors, reading is a huge passion of mine. I have one very guilty pleasure. Every summer I do a complete rewatch of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, knitting (very badly) or fluid art painting.
✨ I believe optimism is the best way to face challenges and curiosity is the key to lifelong learning. And learning is something I never want to stop doing.

Whether you are here for positivity tips, personal growth strategies, teaching ideas or a look at my latest creative writing, I am so glad you found your way here. Welcome to my world, and thank you for being part of this journey.
