Choices and Consequences

Share on:

You are free to choose but you are not free from the consequences of your choice.

I’m a teacher, and in my classes, we frequently talk about choices, and consequences.  My students believe they have no choices, and they seldom recognize the fact that the consquences they may suffer in their lives are a direct result of their choices and actions.  This is never as apparent as it is on the day they students receive their midyear grades.  I can’t count the number of times I hear “Mr./Ms. So and So gave me an F.”  That statement always leads to a huge discussion of choices and consequences.  Nine times out of ten, the student has chosen not to go to class, and not to do the work required of them.  The consequense is a failing grade.  The teacher didn’t “GIVE” the failing grade to them, they earned it.

That’s how it is in life too.  You have choices, you always have choices, and you also  have to face the consequences of those choices.  Make good choices and you won’t have negative consequences.  It’s as simple as that.
