Taking chances and putting yourself out there is hard. It’s in our nature to wait until we’re sure we’re right before we do anything. The thing is, if we all did that, all the time, nobody would ever accomplish anything. Sometimes, you have to take a risk and make that giant leap of faith. It’s scary as all get out when you do, and sometimes, the results are an utter fail. But sometimes, just sometimes, great and amazing things happen.
Putting yourself out there can mean so many different things for different people. It can be as big as quitting your job and starting your own business, or submitting the book you’ve spent years drafting to a publisher. It can also be as small as wearing a different style of clothing. I’ve recently done that one, and even though I say it’s small, let me tell you, it’s HUGE. Stepping away from your comfort zone is terrifying. It can be as big as buying your first home, or maybe talking to that handsome friend on facebook that you haven’t seen in years. What matters is that you do it. Take a chance – and chances are, you’ll accomplish great and amazing things.
