Often it’s the deepest pain which empowers you to grow into your highest self. Karen Salmansohn
I’m kind of looking at this one from a different perspective. I was talking with a student yesterday who is trying to decide which institute of higher learning she wishes to attend. This particular person is very artistic and is torn between art school, or a traditional university. In the end, she’ll make the best decision for her, but it got me thinking. I like to write, and suppose, just suppose I had gone to school to study writing, and that’s what I studied. I would have worked, and I would have honed my craft, but what experiences would I have had to lend depth to my writing? I may have been technically skilled, but would I have been inspired?
That being said, I’m not an advocate of living a pain filled existence. On the contrary, I say find the joy wherever you can. But it is that pain that balances out the joy, and often times, it is that pain that leads us to that joy.
