Happiness is inward, and not outward; and so, it does not depend on what we have, but on what we are.
Henry Van Dyke
I don’t know if I can honestly tell you what happiness is, because I think it’s probably a little bit different for each person. I can probably tell you a lot about what happiness isn’t. Happiness is NOT the house you live in, or the car you drive. Happiness comes from within. To all outward appearances, people could look at what I have and assume I’m not happy. I don’t own my own home, I have an older model car that I’m still paying on, and I work in an inner-city school that has it’s own share of issues. But the way I look at it, I have a place to live, I have a car that works, and I am so lucky to work in a school where the kids really need me. Those are the things that make me happy. I hope you can look inside and find true happiness as well.
