It’s OK

One of the most freeing things we learn in life is that we don’t have to like everyone, everyone doesn’t have to like us, and it’s perfectly OK.

Happy New Year!  I was going to start out with a quote and blog post about new years, new opportunites, resolutions and all that, but hey, let’s be different.

I can remember in school, hating the fact that I wasn’t popular.  It really bothered me, and I was pretty miserable about it.  As I’ve grown, I’ve sort of lost that desire for popularity.  I want people to like me, but guess what, if they don’t, that’s okay.  Not everybody is going to like me, and I’m not going to like everybody.  There is nothing wrong with them, and there is nothing wrong with me.  It’s just life, and once we realize it and not just accept it, but embrace it, we’ll all be a lot happier.  Live your life for YOU, do things that make you happy.  There will be people that are okay with that, and people that aren’t.  What matters is that YOU are happy.
