We’ve all heard of the expression, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” It’s a good expression, but I started thinking. Who decides what are lemons. Now I’m not talking literal lemons of course, you get those, you make a lemon meringue pie! It’s the other things I’m talking about, the life 
experiences. Think about what the quote says – see sunshine where others see shadows. First off, you can’t have shadows if you don’t have sunshine, and secondly, what’s so bad about a shadow. On a hot sunny day, a little shade, or shadow can be a very welcome thing. And really who decides an obstacle is an obstacle. We tend to do that to ourselves, so next time tell yourself it’s not an obstacle, it’s an opportunity to try something new, or learn something. It’s called perspective, and sometimes it’s good to develop a different one.
