That’s What Friends Are For

Share on:

That’s what friends are for. They help you to be more of who you are. –Christopher Robin

While I always love a good Winnie the Pooh quote, this one really touched me.  Becuase I work in a high school, I get to see a lot of high school drama first hand, and a lot of that revolves around friends, or what people think friendship is all about.  Friendship is not all about hanging out and gossiping, or going to the mall, or watching netflix all day.  It’s not about someone to party with, or even someone to just chill with.  Real friendship is something so much more wonderful and magical.  A real friend isn’t someone that you have to see every day, or talk to every day.  A real friend is someone who sees all the good in you and makes you want to strive to be even better.  And you do the same for them.  They seem to magnify or amplify all the good qualities that already exist in you, and in doing so they set the bar pretty high as you strive to be more.  That’s what friends do, and that’s what you do for friends.
