It is not the easy or convenient life for which I search, but life lived to the edge of all I may be. – Mary Anne Radmacher
OK, let’s be 100% honest, I am searching for an easy or convenient life. Seriously, who isn’t? Of course we want things to be easy and convenient. That doesn’t mean that you can’t strive to be the best that you can be, either. I don’t necessarily think those two things are mutually exclusive. If my
dishwasher broke, and I had to do the dishes by hand, that wouldn’t push me to be a better person and accomplish more. It would just make me cranky because I had to wash the dishes by hand. Having conveniences, or living a life of ease doesn’t mean you’re not going to push yourself to accomplish more. It just means you may have access to some things that other people don’t have. The drive and determination to be all that you can be, that comes from inside of you. It doesn’t come from having things, and it doesn’t come not having things. So if you have “things,” that’s great, and if you don’t, that’s okay too. Still strive to be the best person you can be.
