Unveiling the Powerful World of Consanguinity
Here’s an exciting sneak peek of my upcoming Young Adult novel, Consanguinity book. This is still in the early stages—completely unedited—and some names and details may change before publication. But I couldn’t resist sharing this glimpse into the world I’ve been building.
Before diving in, let’s look at the word itself. Consanguinity means relationship by descent from a common ancestor, or kinship. It reflects connections by blood, lineage, and shared history. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines it as “the quality or state of being consanguineous—persons related by consanguinity.” It’s a term rich in meaning, and the Consanguinity book explores these bonds across time, magic, and dimensions.
The Roots of Consanguinity
Many people believe that time flows in only one direction. But in the Consanguinity book, time is not a river—it is a tree. Branches grow, overlap, and touch. There are many times, many worlds, many dimensions. At one point in history, those boundaries were thin, and people moved easily between them, much like squirrels darting through branches.
One such world was Pangen. It was a land where magic was a natural part of life. Ruled by a quadrumvirate of the most powerful magic users, it was a society built on teaching, healing, and sharing knowledge. Pangen was a kind of Eden. Yet, just like Eden, it had its serpent—an enemy from within. This faction, the Turynium, believed magic was to be hoarded, not shared. Those without magic were to serve at best, or be destroyed at worst.
The Fall of Pangen
The Turynium’s thirst for dominance sparked a civil war. In this devastating conflict, they overthrew Pangen’s rulers and left countless innocents dead. But not everyone surrendered. Some with magic managed to flee, using their powers to escape into other dimensions. These survivors crossed time and reality, eventually arriving in the legendary Lost Continent of Atlantis.
They brought with them an artifact called the Syngern, an icon that preserved the memories and magic of generations past. The Syngern was more than a relic—it was a living record of their heritage. As they sealed the portals behind them, they believed they had trapped the Turynium forever. Of course, nothing in fantasy is ever so simple. The Consanguinity book follows what happens when old threats resurface and forgotten connections are rediscovered.
Exploring Themes of Kinship and Power
At its heart, the Consanguinity book is about more than just magic and alternate worlds. It’s about kinship—the ties that bind people together, whether by blood, history, or chosen family. The word itself underscores the importance of lineage, kindredship, and shared memory. But just as kinship can unite, it can also divide, and this tension fuels much of the conflict in the story.
Fans of Young Adult fantasy who enjoy books that explore heritage, identity, and survival in magical worlds will find themselves right at home here. Looking Ahead
While this is just an early look, I am thrilled about where this story is headed. Every world, every branch of time, is connected by threads of kinship. The Consanguinity book explores what happens when those threads are threatened, tested, and rewoven. It’s a journey through magic, history, and relationships that refuse to be broken.

Final Thoughts
Sharing this sneak peek with you is both exciting and nerve-wracking. The Consanguinity book is still in development, but the heart of the story—kinship, survival, and the struggle for power—will remain central as I refine and expand it. My hope is that readers will not only escape into this fantastical world but also reflect on the meaning of connection in their own lives.
Stay tuned for updates as I continue polishing the manuscript and shaping this magical world. I can’t wait to share more soon.
