Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same. Francesca Reigler
I have to say, the week that Patrick McDonnell did these panels was the best comic reading week of my life – EVER! Happiness is an attitude, so is unhappiness, and we have to choose which attitude we want to have. It takes the exact same amount of work to be happy or unhappy. I’ve come to the conclusion lately that some people aren’t happy, unless their unhappy. Seriously, they get their pleasure out of being angry, or miserable and they actively try to make others as angry and unhappy as they are. That begs the question, how the heck to do you deal with someone who is happiest when their unhappy? The only answer I have is to avoid them whenever possible. And what do you do if they are someone who is unavoidable? Yeah, that one is a bit trickier. What I do, when I’m around someone like that is try to imagine myself in this super amazing clear bubble. My bubble is amazing, I can breath in it, I can see through it, I can hear through it, but nothing negative can permeate it. It’s not a perfect solution, but it works for me.
