Find the Silver Lining

Attitude is Everything! Silver linings aren’t just discovered, they’re created! Nolan Burris

We’ve all heard the expression “Every cloud has a silver lining,” growing up. But what exactly does it mean? When I was much younger, I took it pretty literally and spent a lot of time staring at the clouds trying to see the silver lining. As I grew up, I came to realize that it wasn’t a literal silver lining, but instead, it meant even when bad things happen, there is some good that happens too. I’m growing older still and I’m learning that while that is true, it’s also pretty darn hard to find that silver lining when it feels like your world is falling apart. But that silver lining is there. You may have to look for it, but it IS there. Teach yourself to look for that silver lining. Things are going to go wrong, but if you can teach yourself to find the good in them, it will make the bad a little easier to handle.  And if you look for the silver lining and you can’t find it, don’t give up.  MAKE your own.  Use whats happening to spur you on to bigger and greater things.
