Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.~Oprah Winfrey
I’ve been talking a lot, and thinking even more about being thankful, and being grateful. I am working hard to develop an attitude of gratitude. I truly do believe that you need to be thankful for what you have in your life. It’s not always easy though. In fact, it’s so much easier to fall in to the envy trap – to look at what other people have and be jealous of it. I’m not saying that it’s not good to want those things for your own…I
try hard to consider those things goals that I am working toward.
The problem arises when you forget that they are goals, and just get caught up in being jealous over what they have. I struggle with this not just daily, but hourly. I am working hard to get rid of the envy and like I said, have an attitude of gratitude. I keep reminding myself Gratitude Rocks, and I’ve started creating lists of all the things for which I am grateful.
I really do have a lot of things to be grateful for and at the top of the list will always be my two wonderful and amazing children. When everything else appears to be going wrong, I can look at them, and know that the most important things are going right. Find that one thing – that constant you have that you are grateful for, and use it. Use it to help you remember that you have so much to be grateful for, and the more gratitude you have, the more thanks you give, the more you will get in return.
