Here’s a message to the new borns, waiting to breathe: if you believe then you can achieve. – Tupac Shakur
Well, my student’s are certainly having fun with this quote. “Miss, You really have a quote from Tupac on the board?” “Miss, is that THE Tupac?” “Miss, I didn’t know you liked Tupac!”
Well, much as I hate to burst their tiny teen bubbles, I’m not a Tupac fan, but I like the message in the quote. They don’t get that. My students tend to see life as black or white, yes or no. There is no middle ground. I’m sure some psychologist somewhere has some reason why this is. Mostly I just think they haven’t learned enough about life to see that often times there is another side to the story, or *gasp* perhaps both sides have a valid point. So to them, because I used a Tupac quote, I must love Tupac, and if I don’t love Tupac, I shouldn’t be using a Tupac quote.
Life, however, isn’t black and white, and there aren’t 50 Shades of Grey, but millions, and it’s our job as we grow and mature to realize that there is more than one answer, more than one solution, and to know that sometimes the other person is right, and sometimes, both people are right. So the next time you’re in an argument, try and remember that.
And for those of you wondering what this has to do with the quote – Nothing at all, lol. The quote is pretty self-explanatory as far as I’m concerned, if you want something, believe in it, believe in yourself, and then go out and get it, and you most certainly will achieve it.
