Kind Words Echo On

Share on:

Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless. – Mother Teresa

Far too often we forget the impact our words have on others.  I think we all know that a cruel word can hurt a person more than striking them can, but who remembers the impact a KIND word can have on someone.    I think it would be wonderful to greet every person you meet with a kind word.  A cheerful hello, or a small, sincere compliment, delivered with a smile.  Think about how you would feel if it happened to you.

Think about what happens when you walk in your house.  Are you greeted with smiles and warm hellos, or like most people, are you hit with a litany of complaints from someone else about everything that is either going wrong in their life, or all the things you’ve done wrong?  It happens to me more often than I’d like, and I know I’m equally guilty of doing the same thing.

Here is what I propose to do.  I am going to TRY very hard to make the first thing I say to a person every time I talk to them something positive.  Sure I may have something less cheerful to follow up with, but regardless, I’m going to start with a positive.  Let’s all try it and see what the end result is!
