Accepting and Improving

Share on:

Accepting oneself does not preclude an attempt to become better.- Flannery O’Connor

One of the greatest things you can do for yourself is to accept who you are, or who you are not.  We tend to be our own worst enemy, and I feel that the greatest gift we can give ourselves is acceptance.  Look at yourself and say “This is who I am.”

But – and this is important.  Just because you accept who you are, doesn’ t mean you can’t strive to better yourself.  I am NEVER ever going to be an olympic caliber runner.  That’s okay, but I can (and do) work to become a better, stronger runner.  Take pride in who you are, and don’t overlook the great things about yourself, but never ever stop striving to be better.
