It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences. – Audre Lorde
We are all different, but at the same time, we are all the same. I think people forget this. We are hyper critical of anybody who is “different” than us, but if you strip away the outer layer, and remove the behaviors, we are all the same. I think it would do us all well to remember that. Stop judging people for the differences in their outer layers
and their behaviors. Accept those differences. In fact, you should CELEBRATE them. Celebrate the cultural diversity that is in our world. Celebrate the fact that the person next to you may know everything in the world about fixing a car. Sure they may not be able to diagram a sentence (who can, lol) but they are your go to person for when the car goes bang bang, knock knock, rattle and hiss. Celebrate that fact. The kid in the desk next to you at school who may be a bit socially awkward, but they could also be creating the next big phone app.
But always remember, that underneath those superficial outer layers – underneath it all, we are all the same. We are not members of this race or that race, we are all members of the HUMAN RACIE
