Humility

Share on:

Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it’s thinking of yourself less.- Rick Warren

Humility is not a word you hear every day, or even every other day.  It’s a modest or low view of one’s own importance; humbleness.  I shared the definition because many of us think we have humility, when in fact, what we have is a low self-esteem.  I think we tend to think of ourselves all the time, but at the same time, we think horribly thoughts about ourselves.  We need to remember that we are pretty awesome people and we have a lot of amazing characteristics, but we also need to practice putting others first.  It’s kind of a tightrope that we have to walk.  It’s important to know our own self-worth and recognize the fact that we are pretty great, but at the same time, that shouldn’t be our  raison d’etre.  So try to limit the negative self talk, but focus your energies on others.
