Make Peace

Share on:

This is probably the best piece of advice I’ve ever heard.  It’s also probably the hardest piece of advice to accept.  We are so darn critical of ourselves.  When you look in a mirror, what do you see?  I’m betting you overlook every single good thing you could see and instead perseverate over every perceived flaw.  And when you make a mistake, I’m betting you castigate yourself instead of accepting it and moving on.  I’m going to say “hey, don’t do that,” but I also know how very hard it is to NOT do that.  Maybe if we talked to ourselves they way we talk to our friends and family we’d be better off.  You are not a perfect person, and neither am I.  Accept your imperfections and move on.  You’ll be happier in the end.
