Ok in the interest of honesty and 100% transparency, I don’t wake up this way. I wish I did, but I don’t. Generally I wake up thinking “Oh my GOD,
how can it be time to get up already.” What can I say, I’m not a morning person lol. But then one thing I do after that is lay quietly in bed, and take a few minutes and reflect. I think about the day before, I think about what is going to be going on in my life that day, and yeah, I take a few minutes to be grateful. I try to be grateful for my yesterday, even if it wasn’t the best yesterday ever, I can at least be grateful that’s it’s over, and I survived. I think about all the things I may need to get done, and I’m grateful that I have a job to go to, and people I love that i do things for, and then, the biggie…I’m grateful that I’m alive. It sounds kind of lame, but if you start your day with gratitude and happiness, it really makes the rest of the day better. That’s why I post my quote first thing every morning on facebook. It makes me feel good to read it and hopefully, it makes others feel good when they see it as well. And for those who say they have nothing to be thankful for, nothing to be grateful for, I point to the quote and I say, “You’re alive, and that one thing right there is worth being grateful for, and it’s not something to take for granted. Try it and see how it works for you. When you wake up in the morning, take a few minutes and be grateful, just for being alive – see how it works for you.
