A part of me is super excited to be back to work and sharing these quotes with my students.  Not because I’m super excited to be back at work, but because I love hearing some of their responses to these quotes.  The first couple of days, it’s always, “Huh?”  followed by an “I dunno,” or a “How am I supposed to know what it means?”  There is lots of prompting and encouraging and they usually come up with some pretty good answers.  Then they have to tell me how this quote may, or may not apply to their lives.  This quote worked perfectly with today being the second day of school because we got to talk about choices, and natural consequences, and how every choice we make creates our reality and our future.  And really, that’s what it’s all about.  We make countless decisions each and every day. Go left or go right, where the black pants, or the grey pants, make a lunch or get take out.  And every single decision or choice that we make helps to create the reality that we live in now, and to make our future.  So with my students we get to talk about how the choices they made today to come to school, go to classes and participate create their reality of today and brings them one step closer to a future as a high school graduate.  My reality is created by the way I interact with my students and also my future is created by those interactions.  Each choice I made with them yesterday and today create the reality of our relationship in the future.  And each interaction you make with people today works to create your reality and your relationships in the future.  Make good choices and craft an amazing reality.
