Don’t Be A Prisoner

Share on:

Care about what other people think and you will always be their prisoner. —Lao Tzu

When I picked out this week’s quotes, I didn’t notice the connection between yesterday’s quote and today’s quote  Yesterday was all about not being a sheep and not following the crowd.  Today – it’s kind of the same and a little bit different.  When you don’t follow the crowd, when you’re true to yourself, it can bother people.  I’ve noticed that people like it when other people follow the crowd.  Most people don’t think that being unique is a good thing.  But, really, it’s the best thing in the world.  I never really thought about conformity as a prison, but really it is.  You’re chained in by what everybody else says, does and thinks.  Break free from conformity, and be true to you.  Don’t let your fear of being true to yourself make you a prisoner.  Blaze your own path and let others follow you!
