Owning our story and loving ourselves through the process the bravest thing we’ll ever do. – Brené Brown

Yesterday, I blogged about not worrying so much about things that have happened and what people may be thinking about you, because chances are, they’re not thinking about you.  We all do things that we’re not happy about.  You’ve heard about those things?  They’re called mistakes.  They happen.  We’re human, and we’re not perfect, so we’re going to make mistakes.  So what?  Seriously, so what?  If you make a mistake, you make a mistake, own it and move on.  Stop beating yourself up over them, after all, their just mistakes.  But we don’t do that.  We hold on to our mistakes and treat ourselves to a hefty helping of self-loathing simply because we messed up, forgot something, or said something stupid.  Heck I can do all three things at once!  But I’m working on not beating myself up over those mistakes.  If I make them, I own up to them, and then, I forgive myself, and always, I love myself.  I don’t know if it’s the bravest thing I’ll ever do but it’s certainly one of the hardest.  But I’m trying, and so should you.  I’m trying to forgive myself, and love myself, and I’m not trying to be perfect and never mess up, instead I’m going to focus on being the best person I can be.
