Fake It Till You Make It

Let me start by saying Happy New Year to you and go on to say quotes about confidence two day sin a row – I didn’t plan it, I swear! When I was doing the quotes for this week, I saw this one and I thought about the resolutions so many of us make, and it gave me an idea.  A resolution is a goal – at least it is to me, and I blogged about that on my personal blog this morning. One of my goals this year is to get my lazy self to the gym more often, but when I think about going to the gym, I start to stress.  I start to stress because I think I’m too fat, and I’m clumsy on the equipment and people will stare at me because I’m so incompetent.  So I’ve decided this is an ideal time to fake it till I make it.  I’m going to walk into that gym with my head held high. I’m going to act like I belong there and be confident.  Fake it till you make it.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying if you don’t know something that you should just fake it and not ask questions or ask for help.  No, I’m talking about your attitude and your belief in your self. What if you have a goal to run a marathon?  Well obviously, you can’t just go out and run a marathon! I think for most people though they look at the end goal and then start freaking out about how their going to do it, can they do it, etc. All those doubts can get so loud it gets in the way of your training, or even starting your training. Start your training acting as if you’ve already completed a marathon, or ten of them! Have confidence in yourself. Fake it till you make it.
