Epilogue

“Dean, Jessica!! Get down here or you are going to be late for school!”

Max walked towards the play pen and picked up little baby Ethan. He gave him a kiss on the forehead and wished his son a very good morning.

“Now mommy is having a rest today because she’s very tired, so Daddy is going to stay at home and play with you all day!” he smiled, as Ethan held out his little chubby hands and grabbed his chin.

“Da, Da!”

“Oh my god, you said Da, Da. Well done little buddy!” said Max, beaming with pride.

“Of course he said Da, Da. You’re his favourite!”

Max turned and looked at his beautiful wife.

“What are you doing up already? This was your day to rest, that’s why I’m not working today.”

“Well maybe if you didn’t scream so loud, at the bottom of the stairs, I might still be asleep.”

“You know what day it is today, don’t you?”

“Of course Max, how could I forget?”

“Well go back to bed and I’ll bring you your breakfast. While you’re up there get the kids to come down would you, otherwise they aren’t going to have enough time to eat breakfast before the school bus arrives.”

“Sure Max,” she said, as she gave him a peck on the lips.

As he watched his pregnant wife walk or rather waddle up the stairs, he started remembering why this day was so special.

FLASHBACK …..

After the warm blast wave hit him, he was knocked to the ground. He never wanted to get up ever again. What was the point of his existence without her? He just wanted to curl up and die. Not only had he lost her but he had also lost his children.

He was sure that if Liz knew she was pregnant, she would never have gone through with it. He knew she was no longer alive because their connection had been severed right after the explosion.

Why didn’t Zan and Michael let him go to her? Why did they hold him back?

The more he thought about her sacrifice the angrier he became. He should have trusted his gut instinct and gone back to get her instead of freeing the prisoners! How could he ever live with himself now?

As flashes of her burned and crushed body entered his brain, tears spilled from his eyes and a guttural roar of pure pain and agony left his lips.

“WHY!” roared Max.

What shocked everyone the most was the fact that Jeff was the first to walk up to Max and place a hand on his shoulder.

“I don’t blame you for her death Max, far from it. I’m not happy that she sacrificed her own life to save all of us but I know in my heart that you did everything you could to protect her. Jesus Max, you gave us another two years with our baby girl. She would have been shot in the Crashdown that day, if you hadn’t of saved her. For those extra two years, I can never repay you. You will always be welcome in my home any day,” said Jeff, his voice cracking with all the emotions that were running through him.

“It’s true Max, we can never repay you for giving us those extra years with our daughter. I’m so sorry that she has been taken away from us,” whispered Nancy.

Although she was completely heartbroken at losing Liz she never wanted Max to believe that she blamed him for it.

All this forgiveness was turning Max’s stomach.

“D-don’t y-you understand? This is all my fault! All I had to do was go back for her, my gut was telling me to but my head told me to trust her!!! I’m not fit to be a human being let alone a king!”

Diane cried out as she saw the broken look in his eyes.

“No Max, don’t say that! The only fault here lies at Khivar’s feet!”

Max couldn’t take it any longer. He felt physically sick. He stood up and ran as fast as his legs would carry him.

Zan went to chase him but was held back by Michael.

“He’s gotta work this out on his own Zan. He’s lost the one and only person that ever made his life worth living and now she’s gone … along with his children. How would you feel?”

“I just want him to know that we’re here for him,” said Zan.

“He knows that man. He just needs time,” replied Michael.

His lungs were starting to burn with the exertion but he didn’t care. He had to keep going, running away. The pain was too much to bear. As his muscles started to cramp he fell to the floor and just let the tears run freely.

How the hell was he supposed to go back to earth now? She was his only reason for ever wanting to stay there and yet he didn’t belong on Antar either. As the uncontrollable sobs wracked his body he felt a small hand on his shoulder.

“Max?”

No it couldn’t be? It was just a figment of his imagination. His want for her to be alive was too great and his mind was playing tricks on him. He didn’t dare look up.

“Max?”

She felt real but then he couldn’t feel the connection. He couldn’t stand this much longer.

“Liz?” his voice was hoarse with emotion. “Please, please let this be real. I-I can’t stand it if it’s not real.”

“Max, look at me. I’m real, I’m here and I’m alive,” said Liz, through her tears.

She took an audible gasp when she saw the pain etched across his beautiful face. He collapsed into her arms and sobbed.

“You’re real, y-you’re actually real?” asked Max, as he wrapped his arms around her waist and leaned his head against her stomach. The connection he felt towards his children sprang to life and the image of the twins entered his head. They were sending calming feelings to their father. They could already sense his sadness and despair.

Max stood up slowly and finally looked in to those beautiful brown doe eyes.

He placed his hand gently on her cheek, as if she would break under his touch, or disappear.

“Max, I’m here and I’m not going anywhere, okay? I’m safe Max.”

“How?”

“The granilith. When the white beam hit the palace, it transferred me to the inside of the granilith where I would be protected from the blast. Now that Antar and the rest of the planets have been returned to their former glory, it will take the granilith years to recharge. We can still use it to teleport to earth, as I have sent the second part back. It’s the only way to guarantee that nobody ever abuses its power.”

Max stood up and brought his lips crashing down on Liz’s. He forced his tongue in to her mouth feeling the need to taste her, to finally know that this is real and not his imagination. When Liz returned the kiss just as passionately Max pulled back, cupped her face with his hands and looked directly into her eyes.

“Marry me Liz. I don’t want to spend another day without you by my side, as my wife, the mother of my children.”

“Yes,” said Liz, smiling.

“Yes?” asked Max shocked, after everything she’d been through she still wanted him for him.

“Yes Max, I will marry you!”

END FLASHBACK

She walked up the stairs and found the kids in their rooms.

“Good morning Dean, how are you this morning?”

“I’m okay mom.”

“How’s school?”

“It’s okay but I’m finding it hard.”

“Hard because you have to hide who you really are?” asked Liz.

“Hard because sometimes I want to use my powers but I know the risks.”

“Well your dad needs you downstairs now. You’re going to be late for the school bus.”

Dean got up off his bed and kissed his mom’s belly.

“Hi little sis we’ll see you soon,” Dean whispered, as the little hand print glowed. “I love you Mom.”

“I love you too Dean. Try and have a good day at school today.”

“I’ll try, don’t worry about Jessica Mom, I’ll go and get her. You go back to bed and rest.”

“Thank you honey, send her in for a kiss good morning though would you?”

“Of course!”

Dean left the room and went to get his sister. Liz went back to the bedroom and got back into her comfortable bed. As she pulled the comforter over her body, Jessica entered the room.

“Good morning Mom, I suppose she is due any day now?”

“Yes sweetie she is.”

“I can’t wait to have a little sister,” said Jessica, kissing her Mom on the cheek.

“Go or you won’t have time for breakfast.”

“Bye Mom, take care, love you!”

“I love you too.”

Jessica and Dean walked down the stairs to find a very frustrated Max.

“How come your mother is the only person that can get you to do as you are told?”

Dean and Jessica just looked at one another and smiled.

“Sorry Dad,” they said in unison.

“Cereal,” was all Max said, pointing at the now full bowls but smiling when his back was turned.

Max was just making some toast when he heard the chairs scrape across the kitchen floor.

“DAD!” shouted Dean.

Max spun around to see a dark hooded figure heading towards Ethan.

Liz had heard Dean shouting and she was running, as best as her pregnant state would allow, down the stairs.

“Dean what’s wrong,” she shouted, as she got to the bottom of the stairs.

She saw the hooded figure go to pick up her son when a blue bubble shield appeared around the crib.

Jessica and Dean grabbed hands and used their combined power to blast the intruder, followed closely by Max’s blast. The intruder exploded into a pile of ash.

“What the heck was that Dad?” asked Dean.

“I have no idea, son but I’m going to contact your uncle Zan and ….”

Max never got to finish his sentence as his dupe suddenly appeared scarred and dripping with blood.

“L-Liz w-we need y-your help …” said Zan, before collapsing on the floor.

THE END

AND NOW THE STORY CONTINUES!!

Prologue.

“Oh my god Max!” shouted Liz as she watched Zan collapse to the floor. She ran towards him and tried her best to get down on the floor but the size of her pregnant stomach would not allow a graceful manoeuvre.

“Mom what’s going on?” asked Dean.

Max ran over to the unconscious Zan and formed an immediate connection. He didn’t need to look a person in the eye anymore because he’d learned how reach out with his mind.

He took a virtual tour around Zan’s body trying to find all of the injuries that he’d sustained. He had a fractured skull which was causing a swelling of his brain, as well as minor injuries.

He concentrated his all his power on fusing the fractured skull bone first and then turned his attention to the swelling of his brain. Once that was under control it didn’t take him long to heal the other injuries.

Dean and Jessica watched as the skin on Zan’s wounds started to close and knit together.

“Is he going to be okay?” asked Jessica.

“He just needs some rest until he gets his strength back,” replied Max.

“Erm ... I’m kinda guessing that’s Uncle Zan considering he looks so much like Dad?” asked Dean.

“Yes sweetie, this is your Uncle Zan but I was hoping you would meet him under better circumstances,” answered Liz.

Max shot a worried look at Liz. He knew that the idyllic life they’d known so far was about to come to an end. This is what they had been dreading since the defeat of Khivar.

“Call the others?” asked Liz.

Max just nodded his head.

Liz walked towards the phone and started to dial the first number.

“Maria, it’s time,” was all she said before she replaced the receiver and dialled another number. She repeated the same message to Alex and Kyle.

“Dean, help me get Zan upstairs and on the bed so he can rest. You both won’t be going to school today,” instructed Max.

“What? Why?” asked Jessica.

“Are you kidding me?” asked Max incredulously. “We’ve just had some sort of alien pop into our home and try to attack or take Ethan. What if they come after you next? You both may have your powers but you might not be strong enough to defeat several of them at the same time. Plus we’ve called a meeting with the others and you don’t want us making any major decisions without you, do you?” inquired Max.

“What kind of decisions are we talking about?” asked Dean.

“Look we don’t know what’s going on yet Max. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves until we find out the situation,” said Liz.

“Come on Dean let’s get Uncle Zan upstairs,” said Max putting Zan’s arm around his shoulders and lifting him to an upright position. Dean took the other arm, dragged Zan up the stairs and placed him on the bed.

“Dad I know there is something you’re not telling us, you’ve been blocking our connection and so has Mom. What’s going on?”

“Look right now we don’t have a clue what is going on until Zan wakes up but it may mean that we have to go back to Antar for a little while.”

“WHAT? All of us? What about school and stuff?” asked Dean.

“Like I said Dean we’re not sure what’s going to happen just yet. You and your sister might be able to stay with one of your Aunts or something. We’ve got to wait for the others to arrive and then we will all decide, okay?”

“Max we have guests” shouted Liz from the bottom of the stairs.

Dean and Max headed downstairs and saw the rest of the group and their kids sitting in the living room. They all had tentative looks on their faces. Michael was the first to get up on his feet and shake Max’s hand.

“Good to see you again Max. How is everything?”

“Well pretty damn good until a few minutes ago,” stated Max.

“What has happened Max?” asked Isabel. “When we got the call from Liz we grabbed the children and teleported straight over.

“Yeah, us too,” confirmed Kyle as he put a protective arm around Serena.

“Someone or rather something teleported into our house and tried to take Ethan,” explained Liz.

“WHAT!” screamed Maria.

“WHAT THE HELL?” asked Alex.

“So what, they’re after our children now?” asked Serena.

“We don’t know why the intruder wanted Ethan but he already has his powers. He sensed the danger and raised a shield around himself. It was strong enough to blast the damn thing away from him but not enough to kill him. Dean and Jessica handled the situation,” stated Liz.

“Then Zan showed up all battered and injured and asked for our help before he collapsed,” said Max finishing off the story. “I’ve healed his wounds and he should be alright but we are waiting for him to wake up so we can find out exactly what’s going on.”

“So someone tried to take Ethan?” asked Isabel, worried about her own children.

“Yes we believe that’s what he wanted to do either that or kill him,” shuddered Liz.

“Surely we can’t just sit around here waiting for Zan to wake up. We don’t know what’s happening back on Antar. Where the hell is Ava? Why did this thing try and attack Ethan? What if they are waiting for our help?” asked Maria.

“I suppose I could try and dream walk him,” suggested Isabel.

“No you can’t Isabel. If you get pulled into his subconscious you might not be able to get out. He might still be recovering from his injuries. I’ll do it,” said Liz.

“But Mom you hate using that power,” said Jessica.

“Yes I do hate using it but I don’t have a choice. Maria is right. What if Ava is in trouble on Antar and is awaiting our return. I have to find out what is going on.”

Liz walked towards the stairs before Max gently grabbed her arm.

“Look, be careful Liz. I don’t want you under any undue stress,” said Max pointing at her protruding stomach.

“I’ll be fine Max, don’t worry. Is he in our room?” asked Liz.

Max nodded and followed her up the stairs along with the rest of the group and the children. They all had a vested interest in finding out what was going on.

Liz entered the bedroom and walked quietly over to Zan. She placed her hands on each side of his head and concentrated on getting into his mind.

A bead of sweat trickled down her face. “He’s blocking me Max.”

“Stop then Liz we’ll just have to wait until he wakes up. I don’t want you exhorting your energy.”

Liz gave one final mental push and got past the first wall but was greeted with another one. He’d learned a lot in the years they’d been apart. She spoke to him telepathically hoping that somewhere in his mind he’d hear her and allow her access to his memories. There was no way she wanted to use the mind rape on him because she knew from personal experience how painful that could be, but it might become necessary if he didn’t allow her access.

She could picture the wall in her mind and sent a blast wave towards it, only to find it still there. There was no other choice. She concentrated all of her energy around her hands and sent a pulse of green energy into his mind. The wall smashed and his memories where there for the taking.

She ran through each memory like a slide on a projector until she found what she was looking for. She entered the memory and watched the horrors unfold before her eyes.

*******

The group paid close attention to Liz when they saw the green energy absorbing into Zan’s head. He cried out in pain as the last of his defences were destroyed and his memories searched.

*******

Liz was standing inside a massive white room, covered with gold ornate decorations. There were numerous tables in the room which looked a lot like white marble. Each table had a map of the five different Planets in the Whirlwind Galaxy and currently they were looking at Antar.

“So we have more traitors high up in our chain of command. There is no other way that the information could be leaked otherwise.”

“We have to find out who it is. Maybe we need a certain person here so they can seek them out so to speak,” said Ava.

“We can’t ask her, Ava. She and Max have a whole other life on Earth and part of them relinquishing the throne to us was so they could live that life.”

“I know that Zan but what if we don’t find the traitors in time. They might have a whole heap of different trouble then, and they won’t be prepared for it. Plus she needs to know what the seers have foreseen.”

“We can’t tell her any of it Ava. You know that if someone knows too much about their future that it might actually make the prediction come true. If we interfere it could be detrimental not only to Max and Liz but to all the other lives at risk as well.”

“She has a right to know Zan,” argued Ava.

“You know the Seers have warned about the dangers of them finding out too early. They could make it worse. Look we are doing everything we can here to prepare for it, so they won’t be alone but right now we have more important matters to deal with. We have to deal with the here and now rather than the possible future.”

“I wouldn’t worry about the future for now, Zan. You don’t have any!”

Liz spun around to see a high ranking guard walk through the door.

“General Asos, what are you talking about?” asked Zan.

Before Zan had a chance to react the General sent a burst of energy towards them. Both he and Ava went flying backwards through the air and hit the wall hard, collapsing onto the floor in a heap.

She was pushed forcefully out of Zan’s mind and fell off the bed onto the floor.

“MOM!” shouted Dean, running to her aid.

He assisted her off the floor and walked her over to a nearby chair.

“Mom, are you okay?”

“Yeah, yeah I’m fine. I just need a minute okay.”

Liz took a few deep breaths and calmed her nerves. When she looked up all eyes were on her.

“Well?” asked Michael in his usual gruff tone.

“All I know was that Zan and Ava were attacked by one of their Generals. He shot a blast of energy towards them and they hit their heads on the wall. Once they had passed out I was knocked out of Zan’s mind. I need to get back in,” said Liz raising from the chair and walking towards the bed again.

“Liz, you are exhausted. You’re burning up and you’re sweating. Don’t you think you’d better rest before you attempt it again?” asked Maria as she placed a cool hand on Liz’s forehead.

“I’m fine Maria. I need to do this,” insisted Liz.

“Liz?” Max looked at Liz with concern in his eyes. “I want to know what’s going on as well but not if it means that harm will come to you or the baby. Zan’s already kicked you out once. He might not like you poking around in there and do something more severe.”

“I HAVE to do this Max.”

Liz placed her hands on each side of Zan’s head again and found it a lot easier to get in this time. His defences were still down.

She searched through more of his memories and came to one which she thought was relevant. She panicked at first because she couldn’t see anything. It was pitch black all around her. Then suddenly a door opened and light spilled into the room.

“Zan, Ava?” she heard a voice whisper. She strained against the light, to see who was there, but the brightness of it hurt her eyes.

“Zan you have to wake up. I have to get you out of here!” whispered the figure in a harsh tone. She felt dizzy all of a sudden and the room started to spin.

*******

“Oh god I think I’m going to be sick!” shouted Liz.

Everyone in the room watching Liz jumped in fright not expecting her to say anything.

“Max we should stop her from doing this. Something isn’t right. She’s not feeling good,” said Maria.

“You know I can’t stop her once she’s in there Maria. If I try, we could do more damage. We have to wait until she comes back out again.”

*******

The room slowly stopped spinning and then she watched as Zan woke up and tried to stand up. As soon as he put pressure on his leg to stand, he collapsed again.

Two other figures came through the light of the door and took both of Zan’s arms and dragged him out of the room.

“Come on we don’t have much time.”

“What about Queen Ava?” asked one of the figures.

“We don’t have time. Zan can come back for her later. We have to go now or we’ll all get caught!”

*******

The scene around her suddenly changed and she was now standing in the granilith chamber on Antar.

She watched as Zan used the granilith to teleport straight to earth.

********

The room suddenly started to spin again and Liz was starting to get dizzy. All of a sudden she was transported into another memory of Zan’s.

He was standing in front of a woman who looked like she was blind.

“What have you foreseen?”

“Hold my hands Zan, join with me so you can see for yourself.”

“I thought that was not allowed?” asked Zan in confusion.

“It usually isn’t allowed. We are only supposed to give you the relevant information to help guide you but what I’ve seen, even I don’t understand it.”

Zan gently placed his hands in hers and was sucked into her mind, as was Liz.

She was standing in what only could be described as Time Square in New York. The traffic was at a standstill and everyone around her was looking up.

Her head followed in the direction they were staring and her heart rate increased. She watched as the horrific sight unfolded right before her eyes and then all she could see were people, people running and screaming.

“NO! THIS CAN’T BE HAPPENING!” screamed Liz as she was thrown across the room again.

She hit the floor hard.

“Ugh!” she yelled as a pain shot through her back.

“LIZ!” shouted Max as he ran to her side. “What’s wrong Liz? What the hell happened and what can’t be happening?”

“The baby Max.”

“What?” asked Max confused.

“The baby Max, it is on its way!” she shouted as another contraction hit her hard.

“Ahhhhhhhhhh” she screamed.

“Oh my god Max, her waters have broke!!” shouted Maria.

Everyone sprang into action.

“Get her on the bed!” shouted Max.

“I’ll go and get some towels and warm water!” shouted Maria.

“Erm ... we’ll put the kettle on!!” shouted Alex, Michael and Kyle at the same time.

Max and the women couldn’t help but laugh at the disgusted looks on the men’s faces, or the look of total fear. All three of them hurried out of the room taking the children with them.

“Isabel, are you okay to do this?” asked Max.

“I’ve done it what, how many times is it? Ah yes, five times now Max. I’m sure I can handle it.”

“But the baby isn’t due just yet.”

“I don’t think anything is wrong Max. This little one just wants to meet the family,” smiled Isabel.

She went to the end of the bed. Covered Liz from the stomach down and then lifted the sheets by her feet. She gently moved Liz’s legs apart and bent her knees.

“Right we’re all set. The baby is crowning so I don’t think this is going to take long. Hurry up with those towels would you!” shouted Isabel.

Max had hold of Liz’s hand which, at this present moment in time, he was totally regretting. She had one hell of a grip on her when she was going through labour. She was almost crushing his bones but he just sat there doing the breathing exercises with her.

He’d made the mistake of trying to heal himself the first time she had gone through labour with the twins but Liz had given him a look that would even make hell freeze over.

“Max, so help me god, if you try to heal your hand when I’m going through so much pain I will blast your ass back to ANTAR!”

And he knew she meant it. Women could have nasty tempers when they were in labour. Both his sister and Maria were the same apparently.

“Liz, on the next contraction you have to push, okay?” said Isabel in her calm tone.

“WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK I’VE BEEN DOING ISABEL!” shouted Liz as another one hit.

“Ahhhhhhh,” Liz screamed as she pushed as hard as she could.

“Okay Liz one more big push and we should be there!” shouted Max.

As another contraction hit, Liz pushed with what little strength she had left and was rewarded by hearing her new born baby cry.

Isabel handed the baby to Maria while she cut the cord and then washed him over with the warm water, wrapped him in the towel and then handed her over.

“Liz, meet your impatient little daughter!”

Tears filled Max’s eyes as he looked at his beautiful wife and daughter.

“Have you decided on what name yet?” he asked. They had been discussing it for weeks now and couldn’t come to a decision.

“Samantha, I want to call her Samantha, Sam for short. What do you think Max?”

“I think Samantha is a beautiful name for her Liz” replied Max.

A sudden look of fear came over Liz’s face and Max couldn’t help but ask.

“What’s wrong Liz?”

“I saw something when I went into Zan’s memories. I’m not quite sure what it means but if I understood it right ... earth will be attacked.”

“WHAT!” screamed Isabel.

“You weren’t supposed to see that Liz. That’s why I booted you out of my memories,” said Zan walking through the door.

Max stood up from the side of the bed and made his way towards Zan.

“It’s good to see you again,” he said shaking his hand and then pulling him into a manly hug.

“Good to see you too but there is no time to waste. We have a major problem.”

“No shit, Sherlock,” replied Liz.

Hi there Meka!!! Thank you so much for leaving feedback!! I shall continue ... just for you! ;)

Chapter 1.

Under the circumstances this was not a laughing matter but after Liz's "No shit, Sherlock" response, Zan couldn't help the laughter that escaped his throat. He'd forgotten how much fight Liz had in her and he admired her even more now than he'd ever done before.

She had just witnessed an assassination attempt on himself and Ava, witnessed the virtual destruction of earth, had her son almost taken away from her and finally given birth to her baby daughter early because of the stress of it all and yet here she was taking the piss out of him for making an obvious statement to her.

Of course the others still didn't understand what was going on yet and that had to be cleared up quickly.

"There was an assassination attempt on my life and on Ava's. It was one of our most trusted generals. He's been with us since you left Antar and has an impeccable record up until now. I don't understand why he would do this to us. He's even been on my protection team a few times and never tried anything. He blasted us and then held us in a strong room. Lucky for us we have very loyal staff at the palace and once they found out what was going on they mounted a rescue attempt. They could only get me out because I was awake and could walk. Ava's still in that room I believe and once the general finds out that I'm gone he will kill her."

"Okay I get all of that," said Michael "but what I want to know is why the hell does earth get attacked? I thought we got rid of the threat when we killed Khivar."

"Look Michael even I don't know the full facts about what is going to happen. All I saw was the total destruction of this planet. I don't know where the threat comes from or why. That's pretty much all I can tell you."

"No I'm not buying that Zan. You know more about what is going on than you are telling us," accused Michael.

"Michael, I think Zan is actually telling the truth. I know that he booted me out of his memories before I got a chance to see all of it but I don't think he knows who, why or what date they will attack, he just knows that it will happen," explained Liz.

"What about your Temporal Duplication powers. Can't you just pop into the future and find out?" sneered Michael.

Liz gave him a hard look. "You know it doesn't work that way Michael. I'm only called into the future if I'm needed. I can't just jump and before you ask about my Precognition powers you also know how they work. I can't just close my eyes and demand to know what is going to happen. It shows me when I need to know."

"Well that's just perfect! So we just wait until you get a vision instead of trying to stop the attack happening in the first place?" asked Michael.

"Michael!" shouted Maria as she grabbed his arm and pulled him out of the room.

"What the hell do you think you're doing in there?"
"I'm TRYING to get the information we need in order to stop the attack. What, are we just to sit around and wait for it to happen?"

"I'm sure that Liz and Zan are telling the truth Michael. If they knew when it was going to happen they would tell us. They just know it's going to happen but not when. Hopefully Liz will get a vision before it all starts and maybe we can head off the attack but if not ... then we just have to deal with that when the time comes."

"Oh that's just great Maria...," said Michael in a sarcastic tone "...but we should have time to plan a defence and offence. We shouldn't just be waiting for it to happen. We should be preparing for it!"

"And I'm sure we will but right now we have to concentrate on getting Ava out of that room, if we don't Michael, they may kill her."

Oh Michael was not happy by a long shot but he did realise that time was limited. He had no intention of letting this subject drop though. He walked back into the room and made a statement.

"Don't think for one second that this discussion is over but Maria is right ... we have a more pressing problem to deal with first but once this is over I want to carry on this conversation."

"Are you going to help us then?" asked Zan.

"I can't speak for the rest of the group Zan but I would never let you down on a situation like this. You came to help me when I really needed it and you didn't even know me. You went on faith and for that I can't thank you enough. You have my support," stated Liz.

"Zan you have my total support. If it wasn't for you, Ava, Kyle, Serena and Kal would never have found out what Tess was up to. We would have gone back to Antar and been executed. BUT there is no way I'm letting you get involved in this, Liz," said Max as he turned towards his wife and new born daughter.

"You've just had a baby Liz. You are in no fit state to go. You can stay with the children and protect them if anything happens. I'm sure that the rest of us can handle whatever is going on."

He turned to look at the rest of the group for confirmation and it seemed that Max had their total support in this.

"What about us? We have powers surely we can help?" asked Dean.

"No. You need to stay here and help your mom," said Max.

"I agree with your father to a certain point," said Liz.

"You both need to stay here with your Uncle Kyle and Auntie Serena but mom is going to Antar to help," said Liz with a determination that Max could not argue with.

"They need me Max. They have to know who the enemies are and I'm the only one that can tell. I can feel them. I can destroy them. It's the only way."

Max looked at Liz with concern and then realised that she was probably right. She was the only one that could see the evil within. Plus he knew that once Liz had made up her mind there was no changing it.

"Alright, I trust you. If you say you have to go ... then you do. What about everyone else?" asked Max.

"If you and Liz are going, then so am I Max. I'm your second in command and it's my duty to protect the two of you. I'm in. What about you Maria?" asked Michael.

"Hon, do you even have to ask that question? Wherever you go, I go," said Maria, turning and kissing Michael hard on the lips.

Max looked towards Isabel.

"I don't want to leave my children Max but you are my brother and so is Michael. If you go I go," replied Isabel.

"Well someone has to stay here on Earth to protect the children," said Liz.

"I think that we should contact our parents. They can look after the children while Serena and I are on protection duty, that way our attention won't be distracted. Plus our parents still have the weapons they used on Antar so they can protect themselves if need be. The only thing I'm worried about is the FBI. I know that Naseado got them off our backs but I don't want to do anything to alert them to our presence again."

"I think we will just have to face that problem when it happens. There is nothing else we can do right now. You have to protect the children at all costs. If that means alerting the FBI then so be it. We will deal with that on our return."

"Well now that's all sorted can we please get going. I've left Ava alone long enough. We have to get back and help her," said Zan, slightly annoyed.

"Okay, Kyle would you please phone our parents but be careful what you say to them. We don't know whether the FBI is monitoring their calls. We have to be careful. The rest of us need to plan how we are going to rescue Ava and get rid of this general once and for all," instructed Max.

"I've brought the blueprints for the palace. I thought they might come in handy when we rescue Ava," said Zan.

"Right let's look at the blueprints, work out an escape route, wait for our parents to arrive so we know the children are safe and then we can leave for Antar."

Kyle picked up the phone and dialled a number.

"Hi Dad, it's me, Kyle. We need your help..."

Chapter 2.

This was the call that Jim had been dreading since the downfall of Khivar. Over the past nine years the aliens and their families had lived relatively peaceful lives. Every month a different set of parents would get a message to pass onto the others. Unfortunately today was Jim's turn.

"Shit, what's going on Kyle?"

"Some of us are going on a long journey and we need you here so that the children are looked after," said Kyle cryptically.
"You're going on 'A' long journey?"

"Yes, an extended vacation. Serena and I are staying behind to look after the children but we need some help."

"Okay I'll gather the group up and see what we can do. When were you going on this vacation?"

"As soon as possible, bring some supplies because the group isn't sure how long they are going to be away."

"You want the usual Kyle?" asked Jim.

"Yes."

"I'll contact everyone and get back to you straight away."

*******

"AMY! AMY!" shouted Jim.

She came running in from the garden.

"What, what's wrong Jim? Has something happened?"

"There's nothing to worry about Amy. We need to babysit the grandchildren for a little while. The group is going on 'A' vacation."

"Is there anything they want us to bring?"

"Just the usual supplies," replied Jim.

Amy nodded her head and went to the secret hiding place that held the supplies that they would need.

*******

Jim decided that the best course of action was to actually visit each of the parents. He didn't want any more conversations held over the phone. Ever since their return to earth, just over 9 years ago, the parents had agreed never to discuss anything over the phone.

"Amy, would you go to the Whitman's and explain that the kids are going on vacation. Tell them to bring their supplies also."

"Sure, are we leaving right away?"

"As soon as we've gathered everyone we will be leaving."

"Are we meeting back here?"

"Yes, that way we can take two cars, instead of four."

"I'm on my way," said Amy leaving the Valenti household and heading towards the Whitman's.

The parents had kept in close contact with each other since their experience on Antar. It took a while for them to process everything that had happened. The death of Liz, the re-birth of Liz so to speak and Max cracking when he thought he'd lost Liz.

This was the only thing that made Jeff Parker really look at Max in a different light. He knew that no matter what, Max would go to the ends of the earth to protect Liz, he truly did love her.

The Sheriff pulled into a parking space outside the Crashdown. He sometimes wished that he'd never got involved with all the alien madness, especially when he had to break bad news to good people. He wondered what else they would have to go through in order to have peaceful lives.

Little did he know that in eleven years he was going to find out the answer to that question.

********

"Did you hear that Sir? We finally have some kind of movement from them!"

"I want everything monitored and I want a team out there pronto. There is no way they are going to slip through our fingers again. They've eluded us every time, it's almost like they know we are coming!"

"How do you want this handled Sir?"

"Tell them to stay back. I don't want them to know that we are anywhere near. I think the parents are a good place to start. Agent Pierce's body was never found and I know that they had something to do with it. Tell the men that these people are highly dangerous and must be observed from afar. I don't want anyone firing at them. We just need to observe them for a short while. Then we will plan our attack."

"Yes, Sir!"

*******

The bell over the door of the Crashdown rang out, signalling that there were new patrons in the diner. When Jeff finally looked up to see who it was, he noticed the look on Jim's face and started to worry.

"Jeff, can we go out back?" asked Jim.

"Sure."

"I think we'd better go upstairs for this conversation," explained Jim.

"Fine, go on up and I'll get Nancy. We have enough staff covering tonight," replied Jeff.

Jim made his way upstairs to the living room and waited for them to arrive.

"Okay Jim, what the hell is going on?" asked Nancy worried.

"The 'gang' is going on an extended vacation and they need our help to look after the grandchildren."

"That's all? Shit Jim you had me worried for a little there. How soon are they thinking of going on vacation."

"As soon as possible, they don't know how long for so we need to bring supplies. Serena and Kyle are staying behind."

This was not what Jeff or Nancy wanted to hear. In fact it was not anything, any parent wanted to hear.

"Are they heading up 'North'?" asked Nancy, pointing to the sky like Max did when he'd first told Liz who he really was.

"That's right."

"We'll pack right away. Give us about an hour to get the staff roster sorted and then we'll meet you at your house?"

"That's fine."

Jim left the Crashdown and immediately headed towards the Evans'.

*******

*KNOCK* *KNOCK* *KNOCK*

"Who the hell is that banging on our door at this time of day?" asked Phillip, walking through the house from the back garden.

Both Diane and Phillip had retired and were living a somewhat comfortable life. They'd both decided to concentrate on getting the garden nice since they'd been having such good weather.

*KNOCK* *KNOCK* *KNOCK*

"YEAH, ALRIGHT I'M COMING ALREADY," shouted Philip as he swung open the front door in annoyance.

"What the hell?" asked Philip before he noticed who his caller was.

"Hi Philip."

"DIANE!!! DIANE!!!! GET YOUR BUTT IN HERE!!!" shouted Philip; he knew this would not be good news.

Diane came running through the house with mud on her hands and knees.

"WHAT? What is it Philip?"

She noticed Jim standing in the doorway.

"WELL, aren't you going to invite the poor man in?" asked Diane.

"It's not a social visit Diane."

Her face dropped at the meaning of his words.

"The group is going away on vacation and they need us to help babysit the grandchildren. They are leaving as soon as we get there and they don't know how long they are going to be. They told us to bring supplies."

"Give us a few minutes to change and we'll be with you," said Diane.

"We're all meeting at my house. There is enough space there for you to park your cars until our return," replied Jim.

"Okay, we'll meet you there in, say half an hour?" said Philip.

"That's fine."

*******

"How did it go with the Parkers and Evans," asked Amy.

"Oh, about the same as it went for the Whitmans I suspect."

"Yeah they didn't like the idea too much but are on their way over here."

"Same with the Parkers and Evans."

"Jim do you know what's going on?" asked Amy.

"I haven't a clue Amy. I just hope that they are all going to be okay. They have children to think about now," replied Jim in a grim tone.

Hey Meka thank you so much for leaving feed back for me. It does make a difference to us writers!!!! Hope to catch you online soon.

Thanks to my wonderful beta LilLoucfer!!!!

Chapter 3.

It had been a long laborious three hour journey into Albuquerque. There seemed to be road works along most of the journey.

The parents where getting restless.

It had been a long time since they'd felt this way, fear of the unknown, fear of what was yet to come, fear of losing their children and finally the fear of their children never being able to return to earth.

It was something that brought the parents together in a united front. They vowed from the day Khivar fell that if their children needed them, then they would be there, even if it meant risking their own lives. They'd had to face it alone long enough.

That's why the parents had been dreading that call. They had all managed to put the past behind them, only concentrating on the positive, instead of the negative. They still didn't know what dangers lay ahead.

*******

"Charley, Victor, Tango 318, what is your status?"

"We're about three cars back. No problems so far. Target does not realize it is being followed. Will remain at a safe distance and call in when target has reached their destination. The road work is having the desired effect Sir."

"Keep me informed of all progress, over and out," replied Agent Anderson, with a smile on his face. This time HE would be successful. He'd learned from the mistakes Pierce had made. He wasn't about to let the same thing happen to him or his career.

He remembered the day that the Special Unit had been disbanded thanks to Pierce being found out by Congress. Pierce had given strict instructions that all documentation was to be destroyed which actually did happen. What was so strange though is when Agent Anderson had visited Agent Pierce's home.

He wasn't married and he had no living relatives. A sign of the dedication the man had for his job. He'd been instructed to check on his house when Agent Pierce had gone AWOL. Nothing there indicated where he'd gone except for the amount of files he'd stored in his basement.

The files contained information on the infamous '47 crash in Roswell which Agent Anderson found out was actually true. They had found a crashed UFO and also bodies of the aliens. It never mentioned an autopsy on one of them though. So the video hoax was just that, a hoax.

What really interested Anderson though was Pierce's obsession with a particular individual called Max Evans. He had numerous files on all of Max's associates; practically his whole life was mapped out in those files. It also mentioned something about what Agent Pierce thought were communication orbs with strange symbols on them.

This is what made Agent Anderson take a deeper look into the disappearance of Agent Pierce. He'd remembered that Vanessa Whitaker talked about the police finding a body in the desert apparently with the rib bones melted together. She'd tested the bones to find out; hoping to prove the existence of Cadmium X but found out that the body was at least forty two years old.

He wasn't sure where, or rather who, gave the order, but all he knew was the Special Unit was back in full force and had almost an unlimited budget when it came to these aliens.

He remembered Pierce giving the orders to have everything destroyed, due to Congress shutting them down. What he found so odd though, was why had Agent Pierce been very particular to check that all the files had been shredded and burned but had saved copies of all the documents at his own home?

Then all of a sudden Pierce disappeared and then, not long after, Vanessa Whitaker died in a car crash. It was this sort of information that troubled Agent Anderson and lea him to believe that something more sinister had happened to Agent Pierce. He just couldn't prove it, yet.

*******

"Finally we're here!" said Amy jumping out the car before it actually stopped.

She'd been worrying the whole journey about what this new development meant for her and her family. Sitting in all that traffic didn't help either. She stormed up to the front door and knock hard.
It was Kyle who answered.

"MOM, so good to see you again!" shouted Kyle as he wrapped his arms around his stepmother.
"I missed you too Kyle, now tell me what's going on."

"Mom, come in and sit down for a bit. Liz has prepared some food and drink for you all. We were starting to get worried to be honest."

"Kyle, don't even get me started about the journey down here!" said Amy pushing her way into the house and plunking herself down on the sofa.

"KYLE MY BOY," shouted Jim giving his only son a massive hug. Although they'd always kept in contact they had kept the personal visits to a minimum for safety reasons.

The rest of the parents entered the house carrying luggage and boxes.

"Do you have the supplies?" asked Liz getting straight down to business.

"Everything is here Liz," replied Jim.

Jeff and Nancy rushed over to Liz and hugged the living daylights out of her. They also insisted on seeing their grandchildren.

"Erm, we have a new addition to our little team," said Liz slightly blushing.

"WHAT? I thought the baby wasn't due for another couple of weeks," shrieked Nancy.
"Well she decided to come early."

"Oh wow you have to show me the newest addition to the family."

Max and Isabel just finished hugging their parents when Diane overheard Liz's conversation.

"Are you saying we have a new granddaughter?"

"Erm, yes mom she was delivered at 10:35am this morning."

"WHAT THE HELL IS LIZ DOING STANDING UP THEN SON!" screamed Diane as she pushed Liz down on the sofa.

"She's fine mom. We've done the whole healing thing."

"Oh crap I forgot about that!"

The whole room burst out in laughter. Nobody had ever heard Diane swear and they couldn't believe she'd forgotten about her own son's special power.

Maria had just sat down next to Amy on the sofa and was in the middle of giving her mom a hug when Michael came into the room.

"Can we get straight down to business?"

"MICHAEL!" shouted Maria.

"Actually Maria, I have to agree with Michael on this one. We have to get going as soon as possible. We don't know what situation Ava is in and we need to get control back as soon as possible," said Liz.

Michael had a total look of shock on his face. That was the first time anyone had actually agreed with him, without having a massive discussion about it.

"Do we even have a plan before we actually leave here?" asked Isabel.

"We've done as much planning as we can Isabel. We don't know what we will be facing on our return. They may have found by now that Zan has gone. Then again they might not. How long has it been Zan?"

"Well, literally when I dropped in on you I'd just been rescued from the room you saw in my memories."

"So what it's been a few hours. They might not have discovered Zan's escape yet. That means we shouldn't have a hostile welcoming committee waiting for us but if they have discovered that Zan is missing ... then ... then ..."

"Then Ava may already be dead and we would be walking into a trap," said Zan finishing off the answer Liz clearly did not want to give.

"Exactly."

"Then we should leave right away," said Michael.

"Wait!" shouted Charles Whitman.

"Can someone please quickly explain what's going on? Maybe some of us could help?"

"We don't have time to explain. We'll leave that to Kyle and Serena once we've gone. You've brought all of the weapons with you?" asked Michael.

"Yes," replied Philip.

"You have no problems using them if necessary?" asked Michael.

"We'll use them if necessary," replied Jeff.

"Trust no one. We don't even know if our enemies are here. You won't even be able to tell who they are, remember they can disguise themselves. It could be the post man, someone in the diner, it could be anyone," warned Michael.

"It could even be someone you think you know," said Liz remembering how Nasedo took the form of Max and tricked her.

"You all should come up with a code word that you say before even starting a conversation. Anyone approaches you without the code, they are a possible threat," replied Michael.

"Okay we've got it. Please don't worry about the children. We'll make sure they are safe," replied Diane.

"Come on it's time to go. We've got to get back and find out what's going on," said Zan.

All of the pod squad turned to their children and gave them hugs and told them that they would be back soon.

Liz approached Jessica and Dean.

"I need you to promise me something, okay?"

"What is it mom?" asked Jessica.

"You have to help Kyle and Serena protect the rest of the children. I know it's a lot to ask of you but this is the kind of thing that we've been preparing you for. That's what all the practices were about."
"Mom, don't worry we've got it. We'll do our best to help the others," said Dean.

"I'm so proud of you guys right now. We'll be back as soon as we can okay. Look after Sam for me would you?"

"Don't worry mom, we'll look after both of them," replied Dean.

Little did he know ... he had no idea what his sister had planned.

Chapter 4.

"Are we going in the cars?" asked Maria.

"No, I think it's best if we just teleport straight there, it will save time," replied Liz.

The pod squad turned to their parents...

"Look after them," pleaded Isabel.

"With our lives," said Diane.

They each then turned to their children.

"Look after each other. We'll be back as soon as we can," said Maria.

And with that, they were gone.

******

"I'm going up to my room," said Jessica.

"Hey honey, are you okay?" asked Nancy.

"Yeah I'm fine. It's just been a rather active morning. I just want to go and rest for a little while," replied Jessica.

"Okay honey you go and get some sleep. We'll come and check on you in a little while, okay?"

"Okay thanks."

Jessica went up to her room and closed the door. As soon as she sat on the bed she heard a knock.

"Come in."

"Hey sis, are you okay?" asked Dean.

"I don't know Dean. I have this strange feeling and I don't know what it means."

"That's strange; normally I can feel what you're feeling. Can you describe it to me?" asked Dean gently.

"I've been blocking you Dean. At first I thought it was just nerves about our parents going to Antar but now I'm not so sure. It's almost like I can feel something shift in the air and it's not good."

"Will you let me feel it with you?"

"Sure."

Dean and Jessica both shut their eyes and concentrated on each other. It wasn't long before Dean got the feeling that Jessica had been hiding from him.

He visibly shuddered, as if someone had walked over his grave.

Jessica was the first to open her eyes.

"Did you feel it?" she asked nervously.

"Yeah, the only way I can describe it, is like a feeling of foreboding."

"I don't like this Dean. Something's not right."

"What can we do about it though Jessica? They've already gone; we don't even know why you feel this way. Maybe you have some sort of power that you're not aware of yet?"

"It's like I've got all these negative feelings flowing through me. I don't think it's coming from me though, that's the strange part."

"Sorry I don't understand."

"God, how can I describe this to you ... it's almost like it's coming from someone else, like someone is projecting their bad thoughts, but it's just a feeling, nothing more."

"Do you think we should tell someone about it Jessica? Maybe Serena or Kyle can help us."

"Would you call Serena up here? I know she helped Mom when she first started off. She might be able to do the same for me."

"Okay hold on and I'll go and get her now."

"I don't want anyone else knowing though Dean. I don't want to scare the other kids."

"Let me just get Serena and find out what's going on."

"Thanks Dean."

With that said he left the room, went down the stairs and headed straight for the kitchen. He knew his Aunt Serena always cooked when she was nervous and sure enough he found her in the kitchen preparing one of her stews for the rest of the group.

"Aunt Serena, we really need your help."

"What's wrong Dean?" she asked with concern in her voice.

"I - I'm not sure. I think Jessica is having some sort of episode upstairs. She got this weird feeling and it's not a very nice one. The way she described it was as if someone was projecting negative thoughts through her. She doesn't understand what's going on."

"Okay let's go upstairs and we'll find out what's going on."

When Dean and Serena reached the bedroom door they knocked before they entered.

When they didn't hear a reply from Jessica they both looked at one another, worried.

Serena opened the door quietly, wondering if Jessica had finally fallen asleep after this morning's events.

"Where is she Dean?" asked Serena.

"I - I'm not sure maybe she's in the bathroom."

They looked in the en-suite bathroom and there was no sign of Jessica.

"SHIT" shouted Serena "KYLE GET YOUR BUTT UP HERE NOW!!"

Kyle came bursting in the room; arm held in the attack stance ready to face whatever was threatening his family.

He took a look around the room and found no immediate danger.

"Crap Serena you scared the shit out of me. What did you yell like that for?"

"KYLE HONEY, take a look around the room. Do you notice anything missing?"

Just as he was about to answer a couple of the grandparents came rushing in, weapons raised.

"It's okay, everyone just calm down a minute!" shouted Kyle. "What the hell is going on Serena?"

"It's Jessica, she's gone."

"Oh crap, Max and Liz are going to KILL ME!" shouted Kyle.

It was Nancy who took charge of the situation, after lowering her weapon.

"Look Serena, why don't you explain to us what happened and then maybe we can figure out why she isn't here."

It was Dean that spoke up.

"S-She asked me to get Serena because she was having this feeling that she couldn't understand. When I connected with her the only way I could describe it was a feeling of foreboding. We didn't understand what it meant so she asked me to get Aunt Serena. When we got back up here she was gone."

"How bad was the feeling Dean?" asked Nancy.

"It made me shudder, like someone had walked over my grave or something. She did say something strange though... she said that it felt like someone was projecting negative thoughts through her."

"Oh no," she said turning to Jeff. "She's gone after them."

"Nancy, what are you talking about? How could you possibly know that? What if someone has taken her?"

"It seems that Jessica has inherited some of her mother's powers. I believe what she was feeling was some sort of premonition. When you left her alone she might have gotten a flash of the future and gone to warn them. It's the only thing that makes sense."

"I don't think she's ever experienced that before," said Dean.

"Then it would be totally confusing for her, but she would know that there was danger and she would have gone to warn them," explained Nancy.

"Yeah, Max and Liz are going to kill me!" shouted Kyle. "Ten minutes in the house alone and we've already lost one of the children!"

"Kyle you have to calm down," said Serena in a gentle tone. "You stay here and I'll go to the pod chamber and see if she's there. I'll be back as soon as I can, okay."

"Hopefully she'll still be there explaining what's going on," said Kyle finally calming down.
"I'm sure of it," said Serena as she disappeared from view.

"You know, not matter how many times I see you guys do that, I still can't get my head around it," said Amy.

"From now on, nobody goes anywhere alone," instructed Kyle. "I'm not losing anymore of you."

Chapter 5.

As Dean left her room, Jessica started to feel worse. She almost felt like she was going to faint. She had this spinning feeling in her head and it was making her feel sick. It was so bad that she started to make her way towards the bathroom.

That's when the mental images assaulted her brain. She fell to the floor grasping her head. She wasn't used to this kind of intrusion. The images were so vivid that she actually thought she was there.

As soon as the images stopped she knew what she had to do ... she had to warn them.

With that thought ringing in her ears she teleported straight to the pod chamber. She hadn't revealed that power to anyone just yet. That was one of her little secrets.

*******

"How the hell did she get out of here without us seeing her?" asked Kyle to no one in particular.
"Well you guys can just teleport, so surely she can also?" asked Nancy.

"It's funny you should mention that really. I've had this discussion with Serena numerous times. You see we were thinking of starting a family together but I wanted to know the risks involved before we started. One of the questions that popped into my head was about the teleportation power. I didn't want my kids just popping off whenever they felt like it. She explained that they don't get that power until they reach maturity."

"It would seem that, that rule does not apply to Jessica then," replied Nancy.

"I never knew she could do it," said Dean.

******

Jessica popped up outside the pod chamber and waved her hand over the part she'd seen her father do so many times before.

The door to the chamber slid open. Jessica was frightened that the noise of the door would alert her parents to her arrival, but as soon as she entered the pod chamber the noise of the door closing behind her was drowned out by a loud humming noise.

She wasn't quite sure how she should handle this situation. Her parents would be angry that she'd even attempted to come here. The feeling she had though, was getting progressively worse so she decided to bite the bullet and just teleport straight into the granilith chamber.

The vision before her eyes absolutely fascinated her. She could see that most of the pod squad where actually inside of the granilith. It was only Max and Liz that remained on the outside. A bright white light engulfed the room and she saw that her father had also been sucked inside the granilith.

The only person left on the outside of the granilith was her mother.

*******

Max noticed something out of his peripheral vision and turned to look at what had attracted his attention. A look of horror came across his face.

"Max, what is it?" asked Isabel concerned.

Max just pointed towards his daughter.

"How the hell did she get here so fast?" asked Max.

"Oh my god Max," shouted Isabel.

"Warn Liz NOW!" shouted Max, but it was too late.

Max watched in horror as Jessica ran towards the granilith and placed her hand on it, just as her mother disappeared inside. She followed shortly after.

*******

Max could see another person running towards the granilith and realized it was Serena. She was shouting something but they couldn't hear her.

Jessica suddenly appeared before them.

"What the hell? ...." was all Liz got out before they were sucked into oblivion.

*******

The only way the granilith could transport its occupants was to take them down to a molecular level. They travelled through time and space like this and then where returned to their original form when they reached the other side.

The occupants weren't really aware of what was happening to them ... they just felt immense pain when their molecular structure was ripped apart.

*******

Jessica had never felt such an intense pain. It literally felt like she was being ripped apart. It only happened for a second though and then she was unceremoniously dumped on a hard marble floor.
She rolled along the floor and clutched her stomach in pain. She felt a pair of strong arms lift her off the floor and place her on something soft.

She was semi-conscious of the voices around her.

"How the hell did she get to the chamber so quickly?"

"How did she get inside the granilith is more to the point?" asked another voice.

"Why, why did she do it Max?" she recognized this voice as her mother's. She tried to open her eyes but when she did, it hurt. The light was so bright in there that it was literally like a thousand pins had shot into her eye.

It took a little while for her young body to finally fuse back together again. It was only then, that she realized what she'd done.

She slowly came around and groaned. Her body felt as if she'd been in a boxing match with Mike Tyson.

"Oh god it hurts!" she moaned.

"You tell me what you're doing here young lady!" shouted Liz.

"Do you have any idea what danger you have put yourself in?" asked Max.

"W - What?" Jessica was still not fully functioning.

She felt warmth engulf her whole body. It started to tingle and the throbbing pain eventually subsided. She became fully aware of her surroundings after that strange feeling.

"D - Daddy?" she asked in a curious voice.

"Jessica, what did you think you were doing coming to the chamber?" he asked.

She slowly sat upright only to notice everyone staring at her in shock, that was, of course, until she looked at her mother, who had a scowl on her face.

"Look, I can explain ... just ... just give me a minute, okay?" she asked almost begging.

"You might need to rest," explained Max. "Your young body isn't used to being transported. It's going to hurt for quite some time but I've done my best to take away most of the pain," explained Max.

"W - What happened?" Jessica asked confused.

"You placed your hand on the granilith, it had instructions from Liz to transport anyone who touched it. You shouldn't have done that Jess," said Max.

"Jessica, I want you to look at me," said Liz in a gentle tone, as she kneeled by her daughter.

She looked at her mom with shame in her eyes but then she remembered why she'd risked the journey in the first place.

"Tell me, Jess. What happened to make you come here?"

"I had this feeling Mom. I couldn't work it out. It was confusing. I couldn't even describe it to Dean. He connected with me and he said it was a foreboding feeling. I told him to get Aunt Serena so she could help me. Once he'd left the room I had this really bad, dizzy spell to the point where I almost threw up in the toilet."

"Charming," said Michael.

"Michael shhh," said Maria smacking him on the back of his head.

"All of a sudden my mind was assaulted with all these horrible images. Oh Mom it was awful," cried Jessica. "I had to come here to warn you!"

Liz looked at Max and they both realised what had happened.

"You saw the future?" asked Liz.

Jessica gave a slight nod of the head.

"What did you see Jessica?" asked Liz concerned now.

"I - I'm not sure, everything happened so fast," she cried.

"Okay honey, here's what we are going to do. I'm going to connect with you and find out what you saw, is that okay?"

Jessica nodded her head.

Liz gently cupped her face in her hands and started to form a connection with her daughter.

"You have to let me in Jessica. Just try to remember the vision you saw."

She concentrated hard and the images assaulted her brain again. She cried out this time realising what they meant.

A look of horror came across Liz's face.

"No, I'm not going to let this happen!" shouted Liz.

"Would you please tell us what the hell is going ON!" shouted Michael.

"The FBI," was Liz's response.

The room fell silent.
