Being joyful is a conscious decision, as is choosing NOT to be joyful.  I don’t think many people realize this.  Most of us think of happiness (joy) or unhappiness as a byproduct of what is happening to us, and around us.  It doesn’t have to be.  We can make a conscious decision to be happy.  So the next time you’re feeling overwhelmed, or out of sorts, or angry, sad or depressed, take a step back and CHOOSE to be happy.  Choose to be joyful
