Random Acts of Kindness

Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you. – Diana Spencer

I love random acts of kindness. LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Share a coupon with someone in the store, pay for the coffee of the person behind you in the drive through, help carry a bundle for someone. Anything unexpected that helps someone. I think though, in addition to random acts of kindness, we need to become a more courteous society. Friday nights are pizza nights in my house, and last week, I was leaving the pizza place, struggling to open the door while holding the pizza when a nice gentleman opened the door for me. I was like awww, that’s so sweet, and I realized that I was over the moon excited over what wasn’t a random act of kindness, but a common courtesy. So yes, go for it, and perform random acts of kindness all over the place – but perform common courtesy ALL the time.
