Dance in the Rain

Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain! Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.

Life has it’s ups and downs – storms so to speak. And we weather those storms and move on. But is to weather them our only option? No, I think when we get one of those storms, we need to take off our shoes, roll up our pants, run outside and start dancing in the rain. Think about when you were a child in the summer and there was a rain storm. I can remember being miserable because the rain was ruining my summer fun. One day, my mom handed me a bottle of Johnson and Johnson’s No More Tears shampoo and said “Go outside and play.” I was scandalized, and remember thinking my mom was nuts, but hey, who was I to argue. So out I went in my shorts and with my bottle of shampoo and started to play. I made shampoo bubbles in the puddles, and tried (and failed) to wash my own hair in the summer shower. When mom finally called me in, I was soaking wet, covered in shampoo, and grinning ear to ear. It was a total blast. Yes, it was still raining, and yes, my plan to ride bikes “forever and ever” was ruined, but I still had fun. Maybe we should approach all of our “life storms” in that way. Roll with them, and maybe even have fun with them. Yeah, we’ll still have our difficulties, but maybe if we dance through them, they won’t seem as challenging.
